If GGG ever drops the price of mtx, they will absolutely must grant credit (delta) back on every single item to purchasers since the beginning of time.

I’m all for price adjustments but the framework needs to be based on absolute equality for all players of any time.

It’s a good choice, stands out. I also got that from the amazon prime/twitch promo years ago.
The Watchlist function is a great help for sale watchers.

I think the prices are way too much.

I donated because I loved the game and thought they deserved the money. Long ago I got beyond the point where the amount I paid towards this game was over and above what could be expected of anyone to pay for a game regardless of hours you got out of it, so Ive not felt morally obliged to pay for the game for ages.

But Ive donated again since, because Im appreciative of the game and Im being nice to them at the time. I havent donated in a while because the endgame has just not been there to play and its annoyed me, so I dont feel inclined to spoil them.

What I have never done is look at an mtx and think I want that, Im gonna buy it. I see many mtx I want, they have some amazing looking things I would love to have, and if the prices were realistic I would actually buy them. But theyre not, theyre absolutely atrocious prices and I will never pay for them.

When I donate money because I feel like the game is in a good place and I want to spoil them a little more I will use the coins I get to buy a tiny amount of those things in the shop that are really cool. If the mtx were cheaper, a lot cheaper, Id buy ones I like simply because I wanted to buy them for selfish reasons regardless of the state of the game. Cant speak for everyone but in my case they would get more money out of me if things were priced reasonably.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
The prices are exactly as they are worth, worth is subjective to the buyer and apparently there are plenty of people willing to buy at these price points.

Sure I wouldn't mind cheaper MTX, not to mention the new packs are nicely done. However, I think I've spent enough on this game.... looking at all the badges I have makes me question wtf I was thinking lol. ah well, I've enjoyed the hell out of this game regardless. No buyers remorse here and happily support POE, just need to scale it back a bit.

Which, I admit, seems pretty fucking bizarre given we now have armour sets that cost around $100USD at full price. Like seriously. WTF.

That's nothing! They once had a supporter pack which cost $12,500.

lul can you imagine?

Yeah, you say that, but there's no real proof until they do it, is there? At which point you could just as easily...not.

We have to work under the very logical assumption that since mtx price points are crucial to TencentGGG's success, they spend a lot of time analysing them and figuring out the best place to put them for maximum profitability within the confines of their business model and company image, not to mention the demands of the investors (of whom we now know there is effectively only one, and we know that one isn't exactly merciful when the well runs dry). So while I think it's perfectly fine for individuals such as you or I to comment and say, sure, we'd love cheaper mtxes (who wouldn't!?), in the end we have to accept that mtx prices are where they are based on a whole hell of a lot of data and analyses not from the standpoint of the needs/wants of the consumer but the arguably more important needs of the company/game. Those price points must be the intersection of both.

Which, I admit, seems pretty fucking bizarre given we now have armour sets that cost around $100USD at full price. Like seriously. WTF.

yeah, theres the people who just absolutely must have it regardless of the cost right?

they feel like exploiting those people is more profitable than also getting the extra money from the likes of me, and fair enough it might well be.

Uh, no. That's seriously fallacious thinking. That's like saying I bought a TV a year ago for X, and then the shop drops the price to X-$500 now, and me demanding 500 bucks. Don't be a sillyhead.

Sometimes...the road to hell is paved with good intentions... buddy, I beg......
I agree, a lot of the MTX prices are crazy, but I think there's a method to the madness for those interested in getting our hands on more MTX.

I picked PoE back up (after a 3-4 year break) 3 weeks before the end of Delve. Within a week I bought the Shadowstalker pack and used most of my points on stash tabs. I also got one pet and one weapon effect because "why not?". Every single thing I bought was on sale. The "watchlist" function is a beautiful thing for that.

When Betrayal started, I grabbed the Soulstealer pack (intending to upgrade it later) and got myself a couple quad tabs. I play mostly solo and wanted an easier way to handle Chaos sets, plus having a separate dump tab is just super convenient for me.

So, I'm set with a comfortable amount of stash space for my needs, but I can easily see myself continuing to buy supporter packs because, well, why not? $30-60 every 3 months is easily within my entertainment budget. As long as I'm actively playing I'll likely keep buying...but I need something to spend the points on.

I can't help but wonder if this is the type of situation other folks have found themselves in. You buy a supporter pack but don't need anything from the points so they sit on your account. A few months later you buy another pack and add those points to your account. After a while, you see an armor set or a pair of wings or a pet on sale, you think it looks cool and you've already paid for the points so you buy it.

I don't see a $42 armor set or a $32/64 pair of wings as something I'd buy on its own just for giggles. I see them as long-term purchases when I rack up enough points from buying supporter packs - and truthfully, I'd never NOT buy points via supporter packs. Getting some sweet-looking MTX for what amounts to $5 as long as I buy $55 worth of points in one transaction is too nice to pass up.

TL;DR - Eventually I'll be sitting on a pile of unspent points, and I see most MTX as stuff to buy with leftover points (and on sale). I know not everyone sees it the same and that's cool, I'm just trying to explain how my mind sees it.
