Mtx prices are INSANE!

I'm sure the mtx is priced to maximize profits for ggg. If they cost any more or any less, they would be hindering their profitability.
Never in a million years would I have thought I'd spend 420 dollars for a shiny weapon effect but here we are 4 years later.

GGG is a good company that deserves and demands all your precious money.

Remember when Bethseda came out with that @2.99 horse armor and gamers around the world lost their shit? Now $40 hat and we don't even blink a fucking eye at it.
Prices are fine, imho, when you consider a few things. First they are purely cosmetic and like real life anything that is cosmetic is going to cost you, you have to pay the price to look good. Now the fact not everyone can afford the desired look or don't think it's worth it is perfectly fine because not everyone complains in real life that they can't afford some name brand purse or designer shirt or fancy perfume. These cosmetics are simply luxuries.

Now I think armor sets are priced the way they are to encourage supporter pack purchases. Want that new dragon hunter armor (for example)? Well hello let me introduce you to this sweet little supporter pack where you'll get the points you need on top of all these goodies!

Those willing to spend money on this game want to feel like they got something special for it so having different levels of prices tied to things like the new core supporter packs or the lightning scorpion pet are all designed to appeal to different people than the person who is interested in just spending $30 on the game or even the person who wants a completely free experience.

It may make you unhappy that you can't get something really cool for the price you want and that is perfectly fine to be unhappy about, but it doesn't mean the item in question needs to be cheaper.

Their current monetization strategy appears to have been effective so far.

Mostly streamers with sponsors that buy that crap, plus most of the armors doesn't even look good.

I used to buy supporter packs but now they have funds the prices should have gone down, it is just pure greed now.

they dont have funds.

tencent isnt funding ggg, tencent bought shares in ggg, that means that ggg is funding tencent, the profits of this game go to tencent, tencents profits dont go to ggg, they arnt paying ggg money, the bought the right to pocket the money ggg makes from selling us mtx.

I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
To be fair they are not needed. It not like there is playable content locked behind them (f.u. diablo 3). Some of you dont even like them (like me) so why the hell do you care?

Those prices work for them so far so i see no reason to change them. Your entitlement is not valid reason. Dont even start thinking about "they would make more money with cheaper mtx" since:

a) you dont know if thats true
b) they could also go full EA on our asses and make even more

Just deal with the fact that you wont always get what you want.
I'm definitely in the "it would make more if they were cheaper" camp, although it's tough to change if what you are doing is working, why rock the boat sort of deal. That is definitely a good point.

Basically it comes down to market appeal / how wide your audience is. Fortnite and Farmville for instance both make higher annual revenue. They also appeal to super wide genres of people in all sorts of economic units.

You could claim that POE is more niche and would not appeal to as large an audience, but I think with the growth they have been seeing and how apparent it is, they would make an absolute killing with "lower than AAA Game price per costume" than they are currently sticking to.

Not a big deal to me directly, I usually pay similar to if they had just put out say an expansion/add-on that I was buying flat out, the MTX are just extra anyways to me.
Hmmm Agree with most of what is said..
Compaines can charge whatever they want. You can choose to buy or not buy. Freedom homie.
