Mtx prices are INSANE!

Pretty much what the title says, buy a set of Daily DISCOUNT armor ONE set almost 60 dollars? Pure CRAZY! As is nearly every price of every item. Ragedy back cloak that looks worse than the in game items (pretty bad) 15 dollars...etc etc the list is endless. I have played since the start of PoE, beta actually, but if i want one set of cool armor its as much as a AAA brand new title. I DO understand the company has to make money, but no highway robbery!

Their current monetization strategy appears to have been effective so far.

I completely agree!! The prices are insane, I have played lots of games over the years, and this is the VERY first game that has the most OVER priced cosmetics.

Not sure what I_NO is raging on about regarding prices for MTX.
Look at that person´s ownership of Supporter Packs.

But yeah, the prices for MTX is quite high. Therefore I only buy when it is on Sale. And even then I do not buy everything I wish to have.

They dont get 50-80 up front and every major expansion. They also have to maintain servers and dont charge monthly subscriptions to pay for them. Now, maybe there is a legitimate notion that if MTX were way cheaper enough people would buy them to make up for it. But from what I know of Microtransaction based games, they are all pretty much funded off the back of whales to the point where minor-buyers are almost an insignificant portion of the income.... so it kind of makes sense to price the MTX to get the most out of whales.

I'd say buying reasonable supporter packs is probably not any more expensive then paying up front for expansion packs and monthly fees that non-mtx based games charge, and they give you enough points to slowly build up several cosmetic sets over a few releases, so it seems a pretty good model to me. To me the only dubious aspects of GGGs mtx is the mystery boxes.... and buying points outside the supporter packs is just a stupid tax, maybe GGG should be a little more clear about that.

The prices are fucking retarded is why and it's 20 times worst because you know THEY HAVE TENCENT FUNDS they don't need to make their shit so expensive now it's atrocious.
