I don't have a problem with most of your opinions but I am picking this part out for being grossly wrong. If desync happens while fighting a random pack of mobs sure it is no problem but there are cases where the first sign of desync is already too late.

The latest example that has happened to me was farming merciless Dominus, which I have been doing for weeks. He signals he is about to use his fist of god attack so I run away as always and then I am rubber-banded back to his position, which also happens to be in his shocked ground and I am 1 shotted. Note that I was not standing in the shocked ground on my screen even before he signaled his attack.

There is nothing that I could have been done in that situation, there were no clues or hints that my game was getting out of sync with the server previous to this.

If I had been playing hardcore this 1 event would have ruined my night, instead I just get right back on the horse and farm him some more with no further problems...

I play standard league, although I was tempted by the idea of playing hardcore mode.

The thing is with issues like desync hardcore is too risky, especially for some builds like (my favourite) cyclone build, which generates desync basically few times per minute. They should at least simplify the environment and get rid of all those tiny rocks and stuff that interfere with movement. Make corridors and narrow places larger.

Second thing is as long the alt+f4 shortcut works in PoE the hardcore league its not REALLY a hardcore league.

Hardcore player here retired after 7 desync wipes on Onslaught. Was playing Domination for awhile then realized.....I have a life....and unless i'm going to play 8-16 hrs a day and neglect my family/friends I wont get anywhere on the ladder... So I came back to Standard..... It's so much more fun having the freedom to play the builds I want and experiment with the gear I've already earned.

Hardcore / Nemesis is how the game is supposed to be played. You can argue it if you want, but you'll be wrong. This game was made by hardcore ARPG players. Even chris plays in nemesis.



When you have no permanent punishment for dying, there is never any fear. Combat isn't tense at all, and you never have to be worried if you can do something or not.

if u diss HC go play D3RoS, when u die u spawn on corpse with no penalty ( dont tell me 1000 g for repairs while u make 1 million for 1 bounty counts as a penalty )

Hardcore isn't hardcore until deaths are permanent and alt-f4 gets removed. I played HC forever.... I alt-f4'd all the time until desync got me. It was so easy and stupid lol.
There is nothing more hardcore about masochism.

You're not forced to Alt F4, when you get low on HP there is no big warning telling you to Alt F4 quickly. You made a conscious decision to leave the game before death to avoid it, and then went on to complain it's too easy.

How does that make sense to you?

Having the option to avoid wasting hours/weeks/month? of your time via death to some bs 1 shot mechanic or desync or whatever situation...and instead just not doing anything about it falls under stupidity....or masochism....is a bit nicer term for it.
