I suspect your gear might be the issue.

With my gear at 3259 int and 11899 ES, ES leech cap is 1784.9 without Ghost Reaver and 3569.7 with.

Just what in the heck kinda gear do you need? Certainly nothing I can afford or aquire. I got 6 exalt right now, not enough to do jack shit about my gear : /

I got almost 10k es, and almost 3k Intel. Hear I thought I was in OK shape. Guess not.

You're probably confusing leech per hit with Maximum leech per second. That number (588) is probably how much ES is recovered for each hit. Multiple hits (icestorm hit's a lot!) will each stack that 588 recovery and they work at the same time. BUT your overall leech from ALL stacks will be limited by the value for maximum recovery/sec. For Icestorm, you can all but ignore es leech per hit. Icestorm hits so much, in about 1/2th a second you'll be at your leech cap value (the value found in the configuration screen and doubled by Ghost Reaver)

I'm 42 my self guys...our generation didnt stop playing video games. It's also neither here nor there IMO. It's not like us old farts suck at gaming. well except me, apparently I do cuz im broke AAF and cant afford the blingy shit.

And thanks Breken. I think that's the explanation I was looking for. Now Ghost Reaver doesn't seem useless which was my mind frame before.

Indeed. I wrote my first computer program in 1964 on a LGP-30 vacuum tube computer with a 4K x 36 bit memory store on a spinning drum... amazing machine for its time. You can do the math to guess my age.

The game is like a casino where your expectation is greater than 1. Just keep playing, keep doing maps -- you cannot avoid making money. Also, try running a program called Exilence Next. You may be surprised what it tells you about your net worth.

I am 59 and also never ever got 200 ex and play since closed beta. I think all ex together in all leagues where near 200.
The only thing i have old gear what is way more now and so got 2 mirror for the gear from race events.

But normaly in leagues i get 10 to 20 in metamorph 35 and this league was really really poor with 12 til now. (drops i sold and 4 ex dropped)

So dont worry guys who made such a big amount of ex do 2 things. The play a lot of time sometimes 24/7 first weak of league and have a good feeling for things who are cheap but will give a lot of currency later.
If you cant do this you can make a lot of currency with trading. But i dont like this kind of currency making and normaly i can do 33 to 34 challenges myself in leagues and buy the 2 or 3 for 36. Last league i could do all myself, and got 39 (2 bougt as i dont know that i can reach 36 myself early leage).
This league i think its also possible to do them myself. As i dont like sirius and i am lazy i sell him and got so the challenge.

Uber elder and atziri i did myself mostly with 3 or 4 death.

So if you play the build and enjoy playing over trading or self optimizing you can play this build til endgame with a really small amount of currency.

Is there value in running herald of ice if you have the Mana?
