trading in this game sucks, add a marketplace
Ok.
1) You don't want to add anti-social "marketplace": cause it allows off-line selling and excludes communication. 2) Nowadays in "act 3 merc" there are too many "WTB/WTS" public parties. Accordingly, it's hard to find party for questing or for farm. My suggestions: Create new section in social window for current "WTB/WTS" parties. In new section player will see only on-line traders and their items for sale (like current in chat/forum links). And for buying he will have to whisper (PM) to trader. It allows to social communications and prevent players from non-stop spaming in trade chat.

It feels like playing runescape scrolling through all this text, but even runescape had floating text it was not as bad as poe.
In a nut shell the Trade in this game just pure stinks, how long will it take before trading in this game is changed, a re hash of the forum trade doesnt sound to appealing to me. |

The ideal would be to have an in game marketplace (searchable, buy now/bid flexable) that would be mirrored on the poe website/forum. Yes, this will result in prices for items going down because there will be more competition from other sellers. Right now the prices are crazy high though because relatively few people are selling and many are out to scam those who don't know the true value of items. I like the idea of having a limited number of items in the market but being able to get more through microtransactions. Having it both in game and in browser would let someone say on their cell phone still shop around but let someone in game still trade without alt tabbing. Hope something like this happens soon because it is currently such a mess that I hope to never need to use trade chat.
Also, lack of socialization? Really?! The current spam/acronym non stop vomit stream that is trade chat is 'socializing,? |

Wouldn't mind browser trades, since steam has it's own browser for it's overlay. Would be much easier if your allowed to trade items directly from your inventory in the browser rather than finding a trade in the broswer then and opening POE and hoping the guy is still online and trade.
Although ingame marketplace would be much easier. |

Ive said what Id like to see a few times.
A Marketplace that is a zone in game. You post your item with a buy out (not sure how auctions would work but I don't like auctions). If you are online then the item is white and the buyer is able to contact the seller and they still have to meet to make the trade. Offline is grey and no action is available. The buyer can still see the item and add have to ability to be notified when the player is online so they can make trade. To limit a flood of PMs the item for sale has the buy button (I guess this is where auction can come in as well) and the buyer hits buy now and the item is removed from the list. +1 To OP, even though it seems to be unlikely GGG will ever do anything in this regard. Seems to me they've given up and resort to slap more and more lackluster content on PoE, until it is a huge, convoluted mess of a game.
This "social aspect"? I think you mean: WTS WTS WTS WTS WTS WTS ->whisper: lowballed price <-whisper: are you serious ->whisper: lol hue hue way too expensive lol The current trading system is in a sorry state. Completely inconvenient, hard to get into for new players, and the worst of all, almost mandatory if you actually want more than a mediocre build. But I get GGG wants this game to be a trading simulator with some monster killing. To those claiming everything's alright with this archaic mess GGG calls trading: The fact that almost every trader uses third party software to make trading halfway bearable is a telltale sign of how crappy this system is. I will not trade until there is some sort of official marketplace or auction house or whatever they want to call it. Looks like I might be forced to play Self Found for the next twenty years or so. We are going to shut down Beyond immigration into our maps until we find out what the Hell is going on!
