Practically speaking, the only swords I ever use are the tiny plastic ones some places will stick into cherries.

Cocktail swords are a great choice, both practically and realistically. And the cherry is nearly a pommel in its own right, just stuck in the wrong end.

 But after watching the video I came to understand that assuming that even a foil might break as easily as I thought is wrong. Although my respect for the rapier raised, I still wouldn't pick it unless I was sure I would use against other people. The range is appealing, and can be a life saver, but I think I'm more comfortable wielding something more "brutish". Just my preference for chopping ;) |
