Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page & POE 2 Arc Summary

Being new to the game, this is my first attempt at following a build. Have leveled this toon to 34 now an am thoroughly enjoying the journey - it's much more fun than my initial unguided first stumble :)

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to write this excellent guide. Cheers!

We'd reach about 50% crit chance at most, which isn't really any better than just picking up shock chance. Arc got 10% base, another 10% from 20% quality, Conductivity gives up to 14% if you use it and passives give 20-25%. Or you get a Vessel of Vinktar for 100% chance regardless of all that, as long as you're in range.

The explosions are also Inpulsa's most important stat for us, since they get scaled by all our lightning damage % and elemental damage % modifiers. Having double the base damage from a 10% roll compared to lowest roll makes a huge difference there.

I was looking into ways to reliably cause shock without critting, so I'm thinking about testing Vaal Arc or Vaal Lightning Trap in Kitava at some point. Seeing if a Vinktar is available might help during the downtime of those spells too. Although I don't feel like the range of the effect is very large? With the addition of shock into this build, I wonder if we can fit Herald of Lightning in as a supplement. I just enjoy the spell, reminds me of something from D2.

The tree looks alright, just noticed you didn't pick Whispers of Doom there. If you dropped the double curse idea i'd recommend don't go for that 4-point jewel socket investment, and put it into the scion life wheel instead.

Abyss jewels didn't really bring any exciting mods for us, so just stick with anything similar to what you'd get on a normal jewel. Life is a must on each, and then either cast speed or lightning damage and if needed any resistances or mana stuff. Shock effect and 2% Penetration can be situationally nice too.

That response got pretty long, hope you don't mind. And good luck with your Pledge, if you need more Jewelers you can also convert Alts for them at whoever the currency vendor in town is.

I got a few 30+% dmg to abyssal monsters jewels in the beginning, and went a bit crazy filling out 5 sockets with just those, figured it'd help me do at least 50% more damage to abyssals which have been the most challenge to me so far. I've actually failed 2 spires, so that's been kind of sad. Consensus seems to be that I should be switching them out for Life + Resistances though, maybe some of my 19% damage after kill ones would work too.

I love long responses, I definitely spend more time reading about this game then I do playing it. Whether it be time constraints or just limitations in game. Although I did spend like 2 hours yesterday offloading items onto 4 new mules... going to hit the character limit at this rate being a hoarder, and just don't want to buy any more stash tabs.

I don't want to give up on doing double curses, since it gives me some flexibility in always keeping enfeeble in, and then switching between temporal chains and conductivity given the difficulty of task. But I just don't see myself being able to fit in all the skill gems needed. I wanted to test some things first, but I can't even use my Kitava's yet, since I haven't managed to 6 socket (and then 5 link) my Pledge yet. Ended up buying another Impulsas with lower stats but 6 sockets, and used all of my fusings on it without getting a 5 link. So now it's just... a slow jeweler's/fusing farm until I can get those 2 ready. Elreon is the vendor with the jewelers, working on vorici leveling but his missions are so annoying
@Bodomi: Your gear, flasks and passives look good, nothing wrong with that. The biggest contributor to the issues you have is Warlord's Mark, drop that and you will free up roughly 1k mana.
You're also using Spirited Response but not Rallying Cry, put that in one of the newly free'd up sockets and keep it up at bosses for some extra damage and better mana sustain.

Kitava's Thirst is something you could consider to cut down casting needs for Bone Offering, that should also be a huge survivability boost and will allow you to just mindlessly facetank most bosses.
You won't even need to use Fevered Mind since both your Arc and BL already are above 100 mana cost.
The lost resistances from helmet could be made up on rings, one good resistance roll on each is enough and would allow you to still get Lightning Damage % and Mana Regen Rate.

@Sambucus_Nigra: Thanks! Goodluck with your journey :)

@Mianhaeobsidia: I actually meant Lani in Epilogue, or most other similar vendors in the other towns. You can convert two alts to one jeweler there with an infinite stock. Elreon has a slightly better deal, but it's limited to once per day.

Vinktars range is indeed pretty low, but good enough if you just rush through the packs anyway.
Vaal skills can't be triggered unfortunately so you'd still have to selfcast them, which isn't really worth it and would just slow you down. Herald of Thunder would prevent you from running Essence Worm + Wrath, but if you like it then play around a bit in Path of Building to see if you can somehow fit it in while still having 2.5k+ unreserved mana.

For endgame jewels i would definitely recommend stats that will always affect you. The damage after kill ones look good at first, but you'd straight up lose that damage in most bossfights where you actually need it the most. Only exception is the 2% penetration if you haven't killed recently affix, stacking that one will be really helpful for bossfights and for mapping you'd still have enough damage.

I have now removed Warlord's Mark and Blasphemy Support, put Rallying Cry in the red slot and moved Clarity from my Staff to the open blue slot.

Regarding Kitava's Thirst: I can only get 21-25% craft resistances on my rings, so that would leave me at about 60% Lightning Resistance, how big of a problem is this? Saving up currency for a 6L Pledge at the moment, I managed to get very lucky today and had 2 Exalted Orbs drop, so I'm not far away from a 6L Pledge if I trade some of my other currencies for some Exalted Orbs, but I don't know for how long I will have to be at 60% Lightning Resistance.
Also, if I use Kitava's Thirst I will only have 5040 HP and 600 Energy Shield, is this not a problem either?

Also, should I not use Essence Worm?
I kind of want to use it because the buff from Wrath is obviously quite good, but then again I will have to replace a ring.
If I use Kitava's Thrist and Essence Worm I'll be just above 4.8K HP

Is the solution to find new pairs of gloves and a different belt, probably a Leather Belt?

I apologize if there's something very obvious that I'm missing or not thinking about.

Ending note: I'm a little amazed at how much time and effort you've dedicated to this build, and the fact that you're keeping it alive and you're responding to so many people.
Thanks a lot.

Edit: Well... update on the 6L Pledge situation, I managed to get a 6L with 159% Spell Damage for 4EX, so there we go :).
Yes.

‣ You can now buy all unlocked gems at Siosa (currency needs to be in bag!)
‣ Link Arc with Controlled Destruction and Lightning Penetration
‣ Link Ball Lightning with Controlled Destruction and Lightning Penetration

this part confuses me, do u mean have x2 wands and have these on them or have like 4socket chest and place em on it?
Thank you for this build. It's my first and for building currency and getting an idea on PoE mechanics, well, it is just awesome. Running T9 maps with just a slight struggle on bosses. Using 5l PoH and 4l Inpulsa's atm. But a question. Rallying Cry... I never use it. But I also have yet to find a need. Would this spot be more useful for say an aura-bot Animate Gaurdian? Or really anything else? Like I said newbie and just curious if i'm missing something here. Thank you for this guide... It makes for an excellent D2 nostalgic sorc.
@Bodomi: Grats on the Pledge and thanks for the kind words :)

Mapping with 60% Lightning Res would be manageable but risky, kinda like you have a permanent -maxres mod on you. You're better off replacing one ring, especially if you also wanna run Essence Worm.
Getting new gloves with more resistances would also help with that. If you need the all attributes roll you can make that up on a jewel, maybe replacing the one in belt.

Stick with a Stygian Vise for this league, the flat life on Abyssal Jewels is pretty much on par with the Leather Belt implicit and you got other stats on top of that. But you could look out for a belt with good life, resistances and flask duration, and then craft movement speed for minmaxing if you can afford that.

@Enerqy: Ideally two wands with +1 Lightning Gem Level or Lifesprigs, but the 4L idea would work too.

@Lokattsjal: Thanks! Rallying Cry + Spirited Response is mostly useful to facetank higher tier bosses without running out of mana. The Animate Guardian would be too squishy without any proper investment into minion life so that wouldn't help much.

Your issue with bosses might be due to the 4L Ball Lightning setup, if you can save up for a 5L Inpulsas and maybe a Lv20 Ball Lightning gem while you're at it.

Hello, this may have been answered previously, but going through 380 pages doesn't seem very appealing (couldn't find a way to search specific thread). I wanted to ask why are we going necromancer? I understand the first choice (offerings affect you), even though I find it kinda useless as I have to cast it over and over, but the rest of the ascendancy skills seem like they don't help the build at all, am I missing something?

Stumbled upon this guide today. Srsly thinking about giving it a shot and I am asking myself the same question.

@æuf & Lightingray: Most obvious reason is Bone Offering - the amount of block and spellblock it gives would otherwise take more investment than we realistically could pull off, and then there's also the life gained on block. Don't underestimate this stat, it's strong enough that i've facetanked Uber Izaro at Lv76 and took the char to Lv91 before i realized i had no other life leech than my time-limited Vinktar flask. To clarity, i've dropped the Life Leech gems and was using a Wrath Leech Watcher's Eye, didn't realize at that time that it gives mana leech.

Aside from that, Necromancer gives us lots of resistances, a good amount of generic damage and most importantly cast speed, some of that coming as static value from the small nodes and Commander of Darkness, and then there's Spirit Eater which especially together with Kitava's Thirst can get you a lot of cast speed.
