Hey, I saw in the animate guardian variant that you recommend changing the spectres to carnage chieftains.
Assuming I don't plan to use animate guardian, and that I decided to use projectile weakness instead of poacher's mark in any case, would changing spectres to carnage chieftains be worth it for the frenzy charges? or would they die too often?
Also, in such a case should I use spectre linked with feeding frenzy and minion life? or keep the meat shield?
You should be able to survive most contents with feeding frenzy and minion life. Spirit Offering is really OP at keeping them alive, you only need Stoneskin Flayer for deeper delves and Sirus, maybe Uber Elder.
60000 health, 15000 energy shield every 4 seconds with spirit offering, it is a lot of healing. They are vulnerable to chaos damage however, as they have 0 chaos resistance and chaos damage also bypass energy shield.

Thanks for reply
Already running t16 conqueror's successfully, so changing would be mostly for extra damage on Sirus (didn't try him yet).
Though it sounds they would be at risk of dying there if I change so I guess I'll keep existing ones for now
So I did more rerolling because I'm stupid and I was finally able to hit a +20 str and +5% str mod but it ending up costing me like 3ex more so don't be like me. Just trade your Lethal Prides it will probably end up being cheaper but take longer.

Just a warning for people wanting to try the vaal skellies version of this build... Don't bother. The clear feels terrible and bossing feels terrible too because they die super fast resulting in a pretty low dps uptime. Even popping the vaal CD didn't feel too great and this was with almost 800k dps per skelly, so I'm not sure what the deal is with that. You can't run reflect maps and the spectres constantly die even in low red tier maps
It was a 'fun' experiment but now I gotta try sell all that shite gear and rebuy what I orinally had for the HoAg... Stupid fucking mistakes man...
Really sorry to hear that, I tried it again myself after reading NSUCK's experience a few pages back: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/NSUCK/characters, and didn't like it enough to add it back as a variant. I removed it as a variant after I came to the same conclusion as you did.
I had the same problem, on paper Skeletons do 150-200% more single target boss damage, but even in these situations, crawler kills boss faster. I can only imagine this is because there is no chaos resistance to bosses, or maybe tail spike projectiles can hit a boss more than once per attack?
The difference in skeleton levels must make a huge difference because this is not my experience at all. When my internet isn't getting ping spikes my clear speed is similar to videos Sabba has on his twitch channel (I watched them with that specifically in mind after everyone said skeleton clear was bad).
Reflect maps are fine, you just recast skeles more often (think of it as using an attack spell). Metamorphs rarely decimate my skeletons, the really nasty ones can kill them but I just keep re-summoning them and they go down (typical metamorh from t14-16 with a max tube dies in under 3 seconds, some nasty ones can go up to 10 seconds).
I recently ditched the flayers and added the apes and a AG. Sitting at 24k ES and 6-10m DPS (haven't re-ran PoB yet but it should be 6m mapping and near 10m bossing with gem swap)
How would this compare to cyclopian? Dropped for me in temple. If anyone can plug it in and see. Obviously will need resists, but not sure if it's worth
Strictly worse. Cyclopian is 18% to all attributes and ignite/shock immune...
