The Journey is Better than the Destination
|
Congratulations! You set a goal, and you achieved it. That accomplishment is worth whatever it is to you, no matter what other people say. I can tell you one thing: you have one more Squire than I do.

Sorry nubs I will add one thing and then fuck off.
I think I successfully created a journey within PoE that has a destination better than it. Given where I set that journey and how it messes with the game's own traditional dimensions (not sure which dimension repeat runs of a zone you can't manually reset uses other than "yes, have some"), that's probably a low bar...but I think creating a mind-numbingly banal journey with the absolutely confirmed destination being the acquisition of an OP talking sword (that SPOILER falls in love with its wielder like you're some sort of perfect composite of Iliad's finest offerings) is the greatest gesture I could have made to show that despite everything else I kinda get the whole journey destination mobius strip nature of ARPGs. Holy fuckballs that was a sentence. Of course that's all done BEFORE you even enter the starting town and you have to literally metagame the starting zone for hours so most who do Pound Sand to Hunt The Country Fair's Top Prize likely don't consider it part of THE journey ahead but...to paraphrase Wheel of Time, it isn't THE journey, but it is A journey. K bye. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

If you got what you were aiming for then Congrats Exile!
Also in having enough skills to build league after league something to defeat most, if not, all end-game content. You keep nerfing the nerfs... While some of us (me) have stuck to Standard and only played a few leagues, I do remember the rush of new content. Wish General had more posts like this. -Time to be funny. The world needs funny right now! Warning: "Might" get you muted.
25 Exalts...oh God my stupidity stuck! Now onto 25 Divines... |

" Thanks! Budawpi, you know I'll let you borrow it if you want to play around with it man. It's being passed around right now in my friends list right now. Thanks for all the fish!

" No need to apologize at all. This thread didn't really start with something to discuss; not really. Then somehow morphed into multiple discussions. Honestly, I'll take any discussion in general discussion that doesn't start with POE Ded or Will Hello Kitty Kill POE or I'm super great, pay me to play!?! I'll admit that in this particular instance you mention, the destination is MUCH better than the journey. I've done that journey twice. That's right, I hate myself enough to do it once, and then put myself through it again. There are people who do it religiously. I can't imagine. I poke fun at that journey, but it's one of the most calming grinds you can do. Turn on a movie, queue up a second one...and third one....and a f'ing fourth one. And the whole time just run a beach and kill a big hulk at the end. It's like a mini-D2 boss run over and over again. There isn't a single thing in the game more deterministic than that, outside of the crafting bench. I seriously considered doing it for the Invasion event, but my wife didn't seem like she was in a place that I felt like tempting the demons :) But yes, I agree the destination in that particular instance outshines the journey. As I said earlier in the thread, if you believe in balance, there is always a counterbalance. My friend, you've provided the counterbalance for this thread. Thanks for all the fish! " Be the change you want to see in ..... General Discussion. :) Thanks for all the fish!

" While getting the Goddess Oni sword can be looked at as a destination, it really unlocks what I consider one of the very best journeys in the game which is leveling with the Oni, anticipating the next goddess line and then listening to it! edit: anyone that hasn't experienced it should get an Oni ASAP and level a character with it. We don't know when PoE2 will come out. It would be just like GGG to come out with PoE2 instead of 3.17. Once PoE2 comes out that marvelous Oni Gorishi journey will no longer be available. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired! " So much about drop luck. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks |

" Although I didn't have drop luck with the Squire, I did drop some pretty nice things. A few that come to mind quickly are The Fiend, Awakened Cast on Critical Chance (which I corrupted to 6/20), ~15 Awakener's Orbs, among other things that I just can't remember. I definitely had some chunk items that got me to the 210 exalts. Thanks for all the fish! Editado por útlima vez por Nubatron#4333 en 8 ene. 2022 19:58:35

" No kidding? What's happening to the Sword? The original 10 Acts are still a part of the game, so I would assume you can still grind it. No? Thanks for all the fish! Editado por útlima vez por Nubatron#4333 en 8 ene. 2022 19:42:47
