This is one of my fastest clearing characters I've ever played, and bossing has gotten significantly better once i understood some of the mechanics of the build (once I hit t11, monsters stopped freezing for me, esp bosses...but now that's working again :)

Can I ask what mechanics you figured out exactly? I do look forward to getting a death's opus, i do feel like GMP is hurting my damage right now.

I honestly don't feel comfortable tearing down someone else's work but tbh it doesn't seem like Aquarism puts in much effort anyways: look for their one line answers which always equates to "check blue text". Not only that, but check the nodes in the bottom right, next to Primeval Force. They opt for 12% ele skill damage instead of [10% ele skill damage, 5% chance to apply ele ailments]. Taking those 2 nodes instead is huge.
Spoiler

As others have correctly said, they simply inputted gear from standard that looks good on paper but there's little evidence to suggest they're playing the league and doing well with what they've put down. Their only metamorph character is level 76 with incredibly subpar gear, we're talking +10 maximum life on the gloves.

My advice to any poor soul still stuck on this build is this:
Make sure you're not using Omen on the Winds, THEN swap GMP out to Chain support, example of this is on my current bow,

You will notice a MASSIVE improvement to your damage when clearing with +3 chain, after making sure there is no piercing involved at all. I went from sluggishly doing t3 maps to comfortably clearing t9s alchd quantity, bosses too. (Scourge arrow for ST)
Then swap to this build guide. ([3.9] YABB (Yet Another Bow Build))

This build also has much more activity in the thread showcasing their own items etc.
You may have to use quite a few regrets but the tree given in this build makes far more sense. I don't trust the frenzy quiver to be honest, I tried it out and it would BARELY happen enough. As the other build rightfully says, at some point grab green nightmare jewel to socket below "Survivalist" node for frenzy charges. Hyrri's demise is too good a quiver to pass up for what this build suggests.

I don't wish to do this simply to roast Aquarism. It looks like a lot of work to create any build, especially of this calibre. But I hands down, will not stand by and let people be hoodwinked into having a brutal experience which I endured and would not wish for anyone starting this league.

This is a crit based build, crits have a 100% chance to freeze when they hit and meet the threshhold.. As such, the two nodes under primeval force do very little.

The builds are practically the same with little differences. Aquarism's guide is fine, and the response of read the blue text is because the same questions about: mana leech, claw nodes, etc keep getting asked - or a lack of understanding about certain mechanics in the game (For example, your primeval force listed above)
Here is a Video on how the Build Performs with little invest, but it is always hard on the edge to death, thats why i play a bit shaky cuz im leveling

Mechanically speaking - so I was dying a lot to metamorph monsters, and now dumpster them. Giving them added life was not only significantly making the fight take longer, but pushing them out of my freeze threshhold. As such I've avoided that modifier a majority of the time. I switched back from barrage to ice shot/barrage support, and have had an immensely easier time with bosses and metamorphs. Personally I find vaal pact to be necessary (some guides say not to) We get a ton of damage from very few items (chest, opus, and flasks) as such, invest heavily with points into HP. Don't spend 3 points on a jewel for a few hp and very little DPS increase.

You can offscreen hit things. I like alira more than 2 bandits (Ive switched back and forth twice, and settled on alira)

I'm still rocking precision for now
I guess these are my various ramblings that helped me out :)

The are other issues with the pob, check the top near assasination, with YAAB's build only 2 points are spent getting to juicy nodes like Resourcefulness and Fangs of the Viper, whereas this pob takes 5 dexterity nodes to connect to Coordination and revenge of the hunted. The nodes next to Resourcefulness provide 8% ele resist and Coldhearted Calculation above it provides 20 to intelligence also.
On what you said about chance to freeze, that's if you crit 100% of the time which really is not the case, not even min maxed chars. It's 4% less ele skill damage for 10% chance to freeze, SHOCK and IGNITE. Shock especially is a pretty free addition. Many builds gain an enormous amount of prowess simply getting ~1.7% crit chance from a Hatred Watcher's eye. Currently selling for 10ex baseline btw... hence it's not easy even getting ~2% flat crit chance. Sustaining freeze is incredibly important as we're squishy af as people have said, one hit is often death as seen fron the Barran fight.
Checking your gear, I have very close critical strike chance modifiers to you, you have an extra 30% with your opus and I still have 39.4% chance to crit.

League started 7 days ago, my points are that many people league starting don't have the 'looks good on paper' gear or resources available this build stresses. My issues with it are claims like GMP instead of chain, try this comparison with blight encounters, it's not even close how much better chain is, or in general.
"Cheap to start", ummm if you call it a start? It's brutal as fuck as many others have pointed out. My criticisms to the build is the claim and impression that it's a VERY viable league starter, evidenced by [All Content][League Starter] right in the title.

It's a decent build, I actually do think this. But I strongly believe it's a bit deceptive.
I have a question, would it be worth to trade a 5 link Hyrri's Ire for a 6 link queen of the forest? If not, what is the best 5 link setup for ice shot and barrage?
Love the build!

I have 2 questions that I can't seem to find answers to anywhere, I hope that you will have time to respond!

https://pastebin.com/5kbYdN1x this is my POB

I have 57% crit chance, and i have seen people saying anything under 80 is bad. I cannot for the life of me understand how you can get up to 100% crit chance.
I have the diamond flask, I have death opus, I have the Oskarm, I have a spike-point quiver. And still, I am at 57%, nowhere near 70-80-90%.

What am I missing? Is the POB just wrong in its calculation? Or is it some random flask effect that gives the "effective" crit-rate up to 90s%?

you said you have diamond flask but is not enabled in either your inventory or the config. Simply select the flask will bump your effective crit chance to 81% which is a decent amount.

Hyrri ire by it self gives about a lvl17-18 added cold damage support to all bow attacks. so not it is not worth it to trade.

Hey, first want to say this is a nice build so far (the wave clear feels pretty nice).

Here is my POB: https://pastebin.com/Vtxz2ND2

I'm using a 6L Barrage -> EDwA -> Ele Focus -> Hypo -> DoFL -> Added Cold Dmg

Thanks in advance :)

Ok, do not use hypo with ele focus because you cant inflict ailments, try using inspiration or increased crit.

The thing you are missing is chance to inflict ailments doesn't mean you will. Wiki link https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Shock

We need to do a minimum amount of damage to shock enemies, this build simply doesn't have enough raw lightning damage to shock any end game bosses even for the minimum amount, even after using demise and all lightning jewels.

For the tree, I did not take Resourscfullness, fangs of the viper or cold-hearted calculations, because they provide so little damage wise. The stats and resist you can get from gear.

As you mentioned, it is 8 days into the league but I have garbage gear. I just recently came back on the 17th from work and have little time to play or respond to messages. I am sorry my lack of time is indictive to the lack of viability of this build.

I do appreciate your criticism, I will look into expanding the gear and levelling section to better reflect how rare and cheap uniques will help with levelling.
