ok, I finally found a temporary solution to this.
It doesnt keep my game from freezing/crashing entirely, but it reduced the crashes to very very rare cases and I now learned to avoid them. I had the same issue everybody is discrbing here. had freezes or was sent straight to my desktop every 5-10 minutes since I started mapping, got worse using inpulsa and so on. tried everything like turning the settings down to a garbage level,(I have a gtx 1080, 8600k, 16 gig ram), turned off engine multithreading, vsync, shadows, updated every driver on my system, used both the steam and ggg client, both on ssd and hdd, checked and updated directX, checked my bios for involuntary system overclocking, checked my temperature levels.....pretty much nothing seemed to solve it. here is what i did to being able to play again: Like most people, I have a multi screen setup, with one being 4k and one being full hd. i noticed, that windows always had issues with running two resolutions on a extended screen setting and even setting the 4k screen to full hd couldnt fully solve the issues I was experiencing. long story short, I just unhooked one of my screens (actually unplugged from my pc, not just turned off) and voila, PoE is running smooth and in 95 percent of the time without crashes or freezes. not sure, if that's purely poe related, since I started to have performance issues with other games lately, if it matters which screen I'm using (right now the 4k), but it does work for me. I'd be interested, if that workaround works for others, too. I know it's super annoying, having to tab out of poe to use the trade site, but at least I can now play again!!! |

game still broken! still lagging, wasting maps, dieing to syndicate crashes... guess ggg doesn't have the resources to fix their game :(
