[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
" So far, you got the best version of the build in case of minmaxing, GJ! :) Can you please look up my charecter and say what should I upgrade first? Only got 3 ex on my hands tho. Character name is somebodyWI. Seems like change the tree, grab new jewel slots and buy another amulet with shaper's dmg per 15 int, am I right? " A %damage per int amulet will help a lot with clear speed since the damage bonus increase WO damage quite much.Looking at your gear you may need to get some %increased int corruption mod on rings and belt first. 3 exalts are not quite much when it comes about min-max the gear. If you get 1 more level consider of dropping Stormweaver cluster in favour of another Fertile Mind/Brute Force jewel socket near the Avatar of fire area. Also you have some elemental/cold damage nodes allocated in witch area which i consider also can be dropped for another jewel slot near CI (you need 1 more level also for that. % increased intelligence will raise the flat int nodes a lot so 10 int will be way better than 10-15% increased elemental/spell/cold damage Editado por útlima vez por lilianmarius#0775 en 4 ene. 2019 9:10:53

" So what is the best way to get this corruptions? Just buying things with it or corrupt in temple by myself? |
|
" Buy cheap rings with good int and some decent resistances and corrupt them. Also u can look for cheap 13-14% Cyclopean belt and also use Vaal Orb on it; you dont need the temple to corrupt gear. if you have the currency just buy them; set active trade filters with the items you are interested in order to get good prices as soon as they are listed. This way you make sure you are not skipping some cheap deals from people who dont know the value of those corrupted items. Editado por útlima vez por lilianmarius#0775 en 4 ene. 2019 9:46:52

" The main idea behind the Occ version of the build was to try cold damage. If you want to use the fire conversion then the Ascendant version is the most powerful by far. |
|
Thanks for making this guide. I have a few questions:
1) In Pob enabled Vaal Impurity of Ice, lowers the damage per hit by half. Any idea why? 2) Does cast speed effect Icestorm in any way? Increase drop speed of bolts, maybe? 3) Does spell damage affect Icestorm at the 30% effective rate, similar to Add # cold dmg to spell mods? " Doesn't look too bad. 100% inc AoE means you have to dodge the Pizza Slam better, and 69% more life means it'll take longer. Other than that, nothing special. |

" I'm using a 5L WO setup for clearing. Still leveling the gems but it's working fine: The difference between 4L and 5L is significant. 4L was crap and I was better off with Hypothermia instead of GMP. But when I finally got a 5L, WO started doing enough damage to be worth using GMP. Ironically, 6L is useless: SC doesn't do anything for WO, and trading SC for any extra WO support would result in a massive loss of clear speed. |

" Profane Bloom + Malediction is the clear speed option. But I'm not sure about the endgame bosses with it. It looks a bit weaker on DPS and a bit less safe than Frigid Wake. I guess it depends on your goals and priorities in the league. Editado por útlima vez por Kelvynn#6607 en 4 ene. 2019 13:21:45

" 1. Impurity of Ice ignores all resistance calculations positive and negative. Even on endgame bosses we lower cold resistance below zero. We use -20% cold res aura, and 38% penetration. at a minimum, sometimes we also toss in a -44 frostbite, and a -9 helmet aura. With just the -20% and the Pen, the enemy resistances would have to be 58% or above for impurity of ice to be better. Even Shaper and Guardians only have a base 40% resistance. 2. No, it doesn't effect Icestorm when used with Cast While Channeling. It does effect the ramp up speed of Winter's Orb though. 3. I'm not actually 100% sure on this one, I've always thought that percentage increases work at the same rate regardless, as that makes the most internal sense. |
