but they suck with PoE....

in what way? havn't had a single crash yet. got a R9 390 stryx with ingame settings max'd and getting over 150fps on dx11. it SHOULD be, ATi, the way it's REALly meant to be played

the main reason I prefer Nvidia for PoE is that way back in the day GGG asked both companies to make drivers for the game

and that's why some nvidia users have BSODs, right? because nvidia gladly made sure they'll get 'em.

don't get me wrong, there are so many hardware/software configs around that it's bound to cause problems for some people, regardless of the game they're playing. that's the PC world for ya.

all i'm saying is that this thread is, gently speaking, misleading. AMD integrated graphics, dx11 enabled, multithreading enabled, no problems whatsoever in over 100h of gameplay so far. not a single hang, not a single crash, nothing. "does not work" my ass.

If you experience crashes when going to character select or in game, crash of video drivers, or black screen of death force close your client using the task manager.

On re-launch before char select go to Options>Graphics and select DX9/DX9ex options. They're not particularly stable, but the game can be played.


GGG has been told about this problem for the past week and they have said nothing whatsoever (other than that they're aware of it) about the status of any patch, so expect 3.0 to be unstable.

rubbish (mostly)

Random crashes started happening today.
"Poe has stopped responding" Close program
Brand new computer i7 7700k, gtx 1070ti, Z270xp-sli, 16 (8x2) corsair vengeance, Evo ssd, windows 10.

Switched from DX 11 to DX 9Ex and the crashes have stopped but the fps indicator is constantly going everywhere from 20 to 75. Note it's just the Counter going all over the place, in game I'm just noticing instability and some hickups, not actual 20 fps.

On a further note, the music in the Abyssal Depths has become stuttery since switching to dx 9ex. I can't explain it. I use headphones and never had such audio bugs. Let alone in only one zone. Perhaps it's an unrelated issue.

Anyway, this post is just to add to the statistics: poe crashes with dx11, instability but no crashes with DX9 EX.

I was ignored by community after posting this on reddit, was using DX9EX and updated to the latest AMD Adrenalin drivers. I had to figure it out, switched to DX11, it's fine now.

I really like the in-game overlay, unfortunately Poe isn't supported.

I really like the in-game overlay, unfortunately Poe isn't supported.

It does work with PoE on exclusive full screen but not on windowed full screen.
