Monster Resistances
last bump in the hopes of some sort of response. All that has happened is
1. less information = more "hardcore" game. hur dur 2. why you want this info? just do flat pen. hur dur 3. QQ thread. hurr durr 3. this info can be gotten elsewhere -> links to broken websites.herpa derpa The larger picture is that: a) Builds optimization depends on monster resistances b) Monster resistances are kept hidden from player c) Doesn't matter if this info is available elsewhere, I shouldn't have to extract and sift through game files to get this info. |

Can you explain why you need anything more than a rough idea?
If something if resistant enough to your damage to last a long time against it, just keep that monster type in mind. If you sit there attacking it and get killed by it because it was THAT resistant to your damage, why did you sit there for a long period of time soaking the damage instead of portalling out and finding a way to handle it? Also, less information can DEFINITELY make a game more hardcore. It just depends on the information. When it comes to resistances? Definitely. Trial and Error + reliance on player memory is a hardcore mechanic. Can you imagine if Devil May Cry 3 showed attacks from a boss and how to avoid it before you fought the boss? No. You learn that shit yourself, and then if it's important to your playstyle you remember it for the future. Not knowing approximately how resistant an enemy is until you first view its stats and then try the damage type is no more or less hardcore than not knowing that vaal has a massive burst damage attack the first time you fight him blind. " The burden of proof lies in the one who makes the statement. At this point you're as toxic to this thread as that one guy in the other thread that claims 102% resist heals you. Is it really that hard to understand that coming into threads, telling people they're wrong, then refusing to provide sources to your claims makes you look like nothing but a festering pile of troll? " You mean like your statement "Dominus, Atziri def have capped res" for which you have not provided any proof (as in "evidence sufficient to establish a thing as true, or to produce belief in its truth.")? And no, referring to how much res a generic rare with certain affix has, is not a proof. GGG can adjust the properties separately. " I already provided sources, as in persons/entities that gave the information on which my claim is based on, for my claim: chriskang and http://poedb.tw/us. That you act as if I am lying, is your choice XD. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" "I believe the major bosses still have 75% resists" "Dominus, Atziri def have capped res" One of these is not like the other! I never claimed to know for certain the resists, because I have no proof and am not 100% certain myself. You're the one who is 100% certain claims while refusing to provide proof (or even what the resist values are!). " Hey, did you know Windows has a secret moneymaking backdoor you can utilize? Source: Bill Gates. Or in other words, an inaccessible source is not that much of a source at all. " I agree with that a source that is hard to access is cumbersome to use. While I do know that you at least tried to access the database source, have you tried accessing the Chriskang source? Have you actually typed "chriskang monster resist" into google? Because Chriskang is very much an accessible source. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

Thanks for setting me on the right path! Through his page, I found this:
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Monster_resists So there you go OP, a detailed list of all monster resists. They might not be 100% accurate as there could still be some as-of-yet uncalculated modifiers, but it gives a rough idea I think. My take-home is that penetration is still very much an important gem in any single-element setup, there's still plenty of 65% resist mobs out there that can over-cap with the right rare/blue affixes out of curse range. I find it astonishing that some people here are so much against GGG making this information public, without providing any reasonable arguments. Oh and no, "resist values are not public because this game is HAAARDCOOORE" is not a good argument, it completely contradicts itself.
That latest wikipedia link posted by gilrad is good information, given it's even close to the truth. I just don't get why people want to argue against OP's suggestion, it really blows my mind. Editado por útlima vez por MIIKKAAA#7563 en 2 feb. 2015 16:37:38
