Monster Resistances

Its funny because the same people here that say not knowing makes it more challenging and hardcore are the same type of people to go to another thread and say POE is a game about knowledge. You are right OP. It is silly that info is withheld from us. People just like to argue against everything.

Please stop trolling...

Dominus, Atziri def have capped res, Rares with "of Elemental Resist" get +40%, they can also have an aura "allies resist elemental damage" = +35% . All this in addition to the base monster res, and any map mods as well.

This is what a dps graph would look like for lighting strike vs Increased crit damage (both 20/20)

No auras, no flask to simply stuff, just 50% phys, 50% lightning

ICD: 105,640.5 - town dps

Light Pen: 86,299 - town dps

As expected, light pen "hidden dps boosts" it to starting point of 101,400

It starts to out perfom ICD at monster res of ~45%, and both flat line at monster res of 75%, at which point light pen is superior.

So, how many mobs have res over 45%? NO ONE KNOWS.

As resist lighting could mean anything >1%

Which is why I would like information on the brackets, and for future QOl, an option to show this information.
Well disguised qq thread , i give the Op that much .

Yeah, the long, wordy version is "hits from the supported skill(s) treat enemy lighting damage as X% lower than it is."
And resistances can go negative, so it will go lower than 0.

*Mark's response has a typo. Where it reads damage, it should read resistance. This is evident by reading the entire thread.

Your source is your speculation, my source is http://poedb.tw/us, in which info was obtained through datamining (before the site was taken down) and dataminer Chriskang.

I can post dead links and say whatever I want too! Did you know that there's a secret exalt recipe? I know because I saw it on http://poedb.tw/us!

Everyone that was into PoE theorycrafting very well knew about the two different datamining sources.

I could give direct link to Chriskang's information or direct link to cashed pages of poedb.tw/us, which are sufficient as proof, but why would I do that? I have provided enough information for anyone interested to on their own find out how much resistance merciless dominus and atziri have.

Why would I go any further to help a stranger I consider arrogant and so wrong XD?

Non-capped resist mobs are irrelevant; they die so fast you won't really notice the extra DPS other loadouts might give.

This man gets it. If you can generate one single source of base damage, you use the penetration support gem. The only options that come close to them are Spell Echo and Concentrated Effect. In the worst case scenario, it's as strong as Faster Casting. At best, a bit over three times as good.

The are of course inconvenient situations when you can't use a pure single element; adding base fire damage to spells isn't happening with the tools we have (I guess that leaves room for the somewhat tepid Empower to shine), and Frost Wall needs every source of flat damage you can scrape together to make it a killer. (The so-called "Frost Fucker" build - the #1 most beloved ally in a party.)
