Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page & POE 2 Arc Summary

Made a couple ex today running maps (and almost a whole level! getting those flask nodes now!); I'm wondering what two pieces of gear I should be focusing on the most to: increase survivibility, increase mana regen, and increase lightning damage (in that order.)

Anyone have suggestions? My character is public.
@ZROGST

A Watcher's Eye with % of Lightning damage leeched as mana while affected by Wrath makes a huge difference to mana sustain. If you couple that with a % of damage taken from mana before life while affected by Clarity roll, you also increase survivability somewhat.

Using this, I can do a constant auto-fire and the mana pretty much fills as quickly as it drains. I ditched my mana potion today after not having to use it for about 16 hours of game play.

These are not cheap though. I picked one up for 3ex the other day, but, that was lucky after trying for about a week as the sellers were usually offline. It had crappy rolls for the wrath and clarity, but, I just divined it until happy. Settled for 1.42% wrath and 9% clarity.

That sounds *exactly* like what I need. I'll be keeping a lookout for one, cheers.

Having a closer look at your character, there are a few other things:

1.Replace your rare ammy with a Stone of Lazhwar, preferably with the added block chance corruption (even without is better). This is good for our block chance and reasonably cheap (less than a chaos with out the block corruption, about half an exalt with 4%).

2. Gloves are missing a mana roll. Craft some on until you can get some better ones.

3. Replace the belt with a rare one that has 80+ life and some resistances. Tora can add the Increased Flask Duration suffix, if needed and add 1-5% Movement Speed if there's an open prefix.

4. Replace boots with rare ones that have life/mana/movement speed/resistances.

Good luck.

I caught someone online today and managed to scoop up a reasonably priced Lazhwar w/ 4% Block. I cannot swap out my amulet currently because then I dont meet the requirements for Slower Projectile Support lvl 19+; I'm going to try and get the dex from some replacement boots...

I'm just now realizing that the Lab Enchant I put on my gloves seems to have overwritten the implicit 15% spell damage. That's super annoying.

I'm willing to hunt down the right gloves - rares are just intimidating as a new player due to the affix/suffix system. Right now I've been looking for Fingerless Silk Gloves (15% Increased SD Implicit) that roll 75+ to Max Life. What other modifiers are MUSTS on an end-game glove for us?

For belt I'm hunting for a Stygian Vice base (for Watcher's Eye) with a high tier +Max Life Roll and two +Res? Are there sort of "tertiary" mods that I should consider as well such as Reduced Flask Charges Used or Increased Flask Charges Gained?

Does the base matter for boots? Once again, hunting for +Max Life. I'd like to roll at least 25% Movement Speed (30% if I can), and two +Res here as well?

What seems to catch me up is figuring out which Resistances I need given the base end-game items and skill setup - is there a tool players use assist in not over-capping? Is Chaos Res as important as the Elemental Resistances? Is raw +Max Mana a more important stat for us then Mana Regeneration?

Sorry for the deluge of clarifying questions but I'm primarily a solo-gamer so forum interaction is all I have - and now that items are getting expensive and league time is running thin I want to make sure I'm getting things right.

@ZROGST

Dexterity is a bit of a problem. Even with a perfect Careful Planning Jewel, you will be a few points shy of the value needed for max level for slower projectiles. This will either need to come from gear, jewels, or take the dexterity node near Elemental Overload.

Yes, enchants overwrite implicits. Sucks, but it is what it is. If you can find gloves that meet all your other requirements, but are not fingerless silk, take them and enchant. If you can get fingerless silks, great, do not enchant.

Due to our limited amount of rares used in the build, the biggest thing to remember is fire/lightning/cold resistance are all suffixes, life/mana are prefixes. You can have up to 3 prefixes and up to 3 suffixes on a piece of gear. This will give you a good start to being able to plan. If you are in doubt, poe.affix is a good web resource to look up prefix/suffix. If you use poe.trade for your shopping, on the right hand side of each property is a red/blue code. Red begin with P and are prefixes. Blue begin with S and are suffixes. I usually prioritize resistances until I have 109 each and life as being first. Mana second on gloves and rings. For boots movement speed is second for me and belt an open prefix or increased flask duration in second.

Base doesn't matter too much for boots, but two-toned boots are nice as they can have 20% to two resistances as an implicit which will make getting capped resistances easier. If you get these, do not enchant.

Keeping track of the resistances can be a problem when you are new. I am not aware of a tool that will predict the end game totals, but you should be able to have a look at your skill tree and acendancies and see how much we gain. Subtract this from 109 to see how much will have to come from gear/jewels. Once you are in maps, the character screen in your hideout will let you know how you are doing. Aim for 109 of each. Most items can reach 45 of a resistance with an item level of 75 (item level 75 can drop from white mobs is tier 8 maps), so if you were to get an average roll of say, 36, you would need it on three pieces of gear to reach 108, close enough. 3 for each resistance = 9 suffix slots and we have 12 to play with on our rares.

Chaos resistance is helpful, but not necessary. If you have room to get some without compromising the fire/light/cold, do so, but don't worry about it too much.

Mana regeneration on a gear slot is not something that is a priority. We get some from our skill tree, (I see you don't have the 1 point in the 25% mana regen at our start area that Enki recommends). Or from Jewels in the skill tree. On gear, flat mana is better than regen generally. If you look at the gear that Enki has posted, he doesn't have mana regen on anything but jewels and skill tree, I do not either.

As mentioned above, for belts, we want life, resistances, increased flask duration, and either an open prefix for movement speed craft or flat mana. A leather belt is nice due to the life implicit, stygian with life on the jewel would be good as well. Again, though, if you find one that meets all other requirements on another base, use it.

No worries about the questions. This is a very friendly thread and there is usually someone who will jump in if Enki isn't around for a bit, though probably not so much this weekend with it being Superbowl Sunday.

Have a look at the gear Enki has included towards the end of the guide in the my character section for ideas.

First of all sorry for the lack of replies, i haven't been feeling very well recently. This time i have to thank Dspayre, good to know there's some people around that can help out when i can't.

Gonna answer everything that hasn't been answered yet, sorry if i've missed anything.

@Furrydragon: Was possibly just a tough combination of Izaro buffs at that day. If you wanna go sure you can disable the buffs, gives less keys but will enable you to succeed no matter what.

I see you're also missing Mind over Matter and with that a good part of your hitpool. Get that and the nodes behind MoM and it shouldn't be an issue anymore.

@Zeratul_PL: The biggest issue i can see is you barely have any life on gear and are missing a Basalt Flask, should be able to upgrade all that very cheaply.

As for the mana part, it's a combination of having a much higher level (more base mana) and more mana multipliers, 100% alone from Pledge of Hands which results in a much bigger unreserved manapool and mana regeneration rate. Add in Spirited Response on top of that and the result is what you can see in the videos.

@TheWizard741: Get an amulet with liferoll and jewels with life on them. I'd switch out the belt too if you want more life, a good Leather Belt may not give you additional item quantity, but a huge lifeboost and some other stats.

Enki, you are just amazing, that you are still "wasting time" and really replaying to all the questions here :)

I've added Spirited Response + Rally Cry yesterday - was able to go only for 2-3 maps so didn't checked it that much yet. The Rally Cry should be casted by the "Cast on Dmg Taken", or should i cast it mannualy?
For now, i'm doing something like that on boss fights:
Casting Rally Cry
Spamming with Ball Lighting (stacking all the buffs like Molten etc)
Drinking Suplhur flask
(if i'm not forgetting about it) Cast Orb of Storm
Reapeat when any of the buffs ending + spamming with mana/ hp flaska
Death, asking friend to put portal, and all the story from begining untill the boss will die.
Is it how i should be doing this (+Basalt Flask as soon as possible to buy)? Or should i be more focused on running around, not just standing (i'm avoiding the "serious spells", but not the normal attacks)?

Going to buy Pledge with 5L today's evening, to increase the mana pool - still runing out of mana way too fast, and even flasks are not able to refill it in some scenarios.

I'm pretty frustrated with the sustain, as for example farming the whole evening the same map, once i'm dead in the matter of seconds, and on the next run i'm face-tanking the boss most of the time and just laughing on him while he is doing almost nothing to me. Currently, while doing just maps with tier 5-8, in most cases i'm on the same % of level as when i started farming. All becouse i'm dead too often while i have no idea how something killed me on instant.

Also, from my point of view, going as a party (arc + rougue, just two players) seems to increase highly all the stats for mobs - they hit harder and life longer. And in most cases, while there is me, my firend and 2 golems on map - everything just loves to rush on me (now i've added Raily Cry, so probably even more mobs will try to hug me). So currently, i'm tring to fill the Atlas with my firned + maybe farm some items. And if i want to level up, i'm going solo - way harder to die, way easier to exp.

I've swapped to mana leech instead of Onslaught. There were so many times I'd run out of mana cause of the damage I was taking or mobs with mana leech. No mana = no damage = no health. I got quite lucky with drops and was able to buy a 6l pledge and inpulsa along with a clarity and wrath aura Watcher's eye. I basically never run out of mana which means a near permanent 40% damage reduction from MoM and watcher's eye. Also managed to get my hands on a 45% reduced ball lightning speed Kitava's thirst for 7 chaos.

I still die sometimes but I blame that on being stupid and trying to facetank impossible shit, I'm pretty sure if I was a bit more careful deaths would be very rare.

Just wondering what upgrade I should aim for next. All my jewels are fairly decent, my uniques are near perfectly rolled and my rares are really hard to upgrade without pouring a couple of exalts in it.

Also, I'm still 5% below the block cap (6% for spell block) I was wondering if it was worth using a Rumi's concoction instead of a Basalt flask. It should give an equal amount of phys reduction (I think?) and would put me at the block cap easily. I'd lose the bleed removal though.
