Well that could be the case if I wasnt a designer myself so this doesnt make much sense to me. Do not be confused, its just ONE OF MANY things on the tree that bother me, so I will just conclude my mind is far too symetrical and prefers logical pathing instead of random "oh lets just put that here" approach. And being near doesnt mean opposing to. If they wanted to make a player chose, should had done so on every major Keystone.

" Accuracy nodes would be nice around there actually... accuracy is harder to come by than crit nodes for staff wielders. I do think the exact opposite pairing on the same node is a bit inelegant but nothing to get upset about. When I kill a man he stays dead.
