[3.0] NeverSink's ♣ INDEPTH Tornado&Archer Guide ♣ Beginner friendly ♣ Rapid clear ♣ All bosses

One thing I found out that may help others who play this build. I took the 3 cold nodes (Winter Spririt) while leveling (not 1:1 copying the guide - and my first playtrough so I took what looked good while looking at the general directions).

Those nodes add 40% cold conversion. Without those nodes Signal Fire would be a big DPS increase in PoB (+23% DPS).
With them the increase is pretty small - as you have already a lot of conversion.
Those 3 nodes add +18% DPS in PoB (without SF quiver), which is huge for just 3 Skillpoints.

So it is ok to not use Signal Fire and IMO a pretty good alternative initially.

That means you can get a rare quiver cheap which adds +life +resist and also crit and so on. My buffed DPS in PoB is 55,6k with cold nodes.

Without and signal fire it would be 57,8k DPS (average Signal fire). However I'd lose more damage with Signal Fire, because I would need to get more res and life on other slots.
My current rare quiver was cheap ~10-20c or so. inc ele damage, 89 life, crit multi and 48% light res, low phys damage. Has unneeded dex roll.

Costing 3 skillpoints - but 48% light res and 90 life is probably worth it. And there should be better rare quivers out there (as most ranger builds go for Signal Fire or Drillneck or other unique quiver).
SF is probably still the top choice for late endgame (especially with Kaoms which adds more fire damage)- but this small change gives your a lot of more options with items, especially if you don't have the currency for Kaoms or want to run QotF for more Speed.

Ty for the reply, i will check those prices of quality gems, but knowing me i might end up leveling those myself.

i will probably take off my atziri step boots so i can have better accessories while caping my resists. or should i not? high eva and spell evade tho ..
I've been thinking on making use of my double legacy Reach of the Council. It's 333 DPS +4 arrows. (never really played standard until now.)

Since I don't have a high end rare harbinger, wouldn't this bow be better than other unique options?

I do have a 357 DPS 5l harb, but I imagine that is worse, right?

Also, using the Reach, what skills and accompanying uniques would you recommend? TS + Barrage, or is LA better for reach?
Is +barrage or +TS better on helms?

I haven't played a bow char in a long time, so I'm really rusty when it comes to bows.

Thanks in advance!

Wow, that's a nice bow. I dream of a bow like that one.

Okay so ... here's my question: Why does everyone take those two minor nodes down near Thick Skin (which give 4% life each) when, for the same number of points spent, you could instead take the two minor nodes up near Revenge of the Hunted and get 4% life (each) AND 8% Evasion?

Any other tips you guys can give will help a lot, thanks!

Yeah was wondering about this too, so I removed those nodes. Neversink probably went for PointBlank at some point, I guess.
Good point! Don't copy without questioning things. There is room for slight changes on the tree - depending on gear/gems/jewels.

Yes, get all the Frenzy nodes. And yeah, you want as much life as you can get. It might not be very exciting, but a dead Ranger does no damage. As I said, I'd skip the two extra 4% life nodes down near Thick Skin. Go along the top of the tree and just get the single one needed to actually reach Thick skin. (Then put those points up into the minor nodes near Revenge of the Hunted).

The Jewel node up above Blood Drinker requires an extra point to reach, it's not one you should take. What you want is the one next to Golem's Blood, down in the Duelist section of the tree (because you also want to take Golem's Blood, so it ends up being more efficient).

Not sure what else to suggest beyond that, I'm hardly one of the best people to ask (given that I like to stumble along doing SSF play).

How would this go with events/races like the upcoming ones Turmoil/Mayhem ?
Hey enjoying this build so far as its my first real one but I just have a few questions:

1)which ascendancy class should I go using tornado shot (build 1)?

2)how does immortal call work? I have it linked to cwdt, inc duration, and summon ice golem and I don't really feel/see it working if you know what I mean (my ice golem does summon so I know that works).

Thanks so much.
