in star wars you can throw your lightsabre = meleeweapon as range
so there are probably games where you can melee with bows :D

some MMORPG in which str increases bow attacks as well as melee attacks. we are talking in terms of maths, not the words themselves. :P

Dex (speaking generally, not POE specific) increases the speed at which you can grab an arrow and line it up, while running around and stuff at the same time.

Str increases the strain you can put on the bow string, and the weight of the bow inself you can maneuver with all that Dex.
