Are flask macros allowed?
" Yeahp! Thank you for the more detailed explanation :) The logging out and all the other stuff I have no interest in but I think I got a solution to my flask issue. Just need to find an eternal mana flask with reduced recovery rate and more mana recovered. Would you happen to know if the recovery time increases if I use a glass blowers bubble on this? If so, the duration would be long enough for me to keep a tab on and press 2 or 3 when it runs out. |

" Nope, quality actually is slightly harmful to you in that case, because it makes your mana fill up faster. It makes it more likely for you to reach maximum mana, and when you reach maximum mana (probably maximum unreserved mana actually, I haven't paid close attention to that though), any Mana Flask's effect ends. You can probably google "quality zerphi's breath," or replace zerphi's breath with lavianga's wisdom or divination distillate, and you'll see others explain the flask effect ending thing. It's like this.
No, they are bannable because GGG said so. GGG is also the type of company that will ban you for using it if you tell everyone you are using it. However, it's debatable if they are detectable at all or if GGG even tries to detect them being used on every single person playing PoE. Everyone has seen someone using a flask macro and they usually don't get banned. Then there is the extent of the macro, are you using a toggle macro that automatically uses flasks every X seconds or are you using a trigger macro that only uses them when you press a key? The former would definitely get you banned, the later is debatable. Log-out macros are allowed and i don't understand why. Alt+F4 is two buttons. Escape + clicking log out is two buttons. A macro to log out is a single button. Clearly by GGGs definition log out macros should be bannable, but they aren't. Also, the benefit of using a log-out macro in hardcore mode is significantly more profitable than using a flask macro in any game mode. Unless you are in the public view (as a content creator/streamer/etc) it's probably not worth GGGs time and effort to detect if some random player is using a flask macro. So it's technically "safe" to use one until GGG decides that it's absolutely necessary to scan every player 24/7 for flask macros. The reason why you never get anyone saying anything other than "no you will be banned" is because it undermines GGG if someone like me says it's probably fine. Does your account have any value to you? Would you care if you had to start over from scratch? Do you ever play standard? Did you spend a regrettable amount of money buying stash tabs or MTX? If the answer to those questions is no, then do what you like. You might get banned next week because making this thread put you on their radar or you might never be banned. You have to be aware that it is a bannable offense and GGG will enforce their rules. They aren't as lenient like Blizzard is for example. Editado por útlima vez por Ezzi#7594 en 5 abr. 2017 6:49:24

" Thanks for the lengthy reply. I really like this game and would hate it if something bad happens. Hence why I made this thread. All that aside I fixed my issue, all I had to do was use a single passive point to get a mana leech passive XD but from all this I found out you can remap the flask keys( I thought the number keys were permanent). I used this to set atziris flask to e so I can press it when I fight tough mobs with my main skill, r,(tornado shot). They are next to each other so its an easy move. Still,I get nervous and press other buttons when I get in tough spots XD |

" "Against ToS" is against ToS is against ToS. Just because you and other macro users believe a thing should not be against ToS does not mean it's not against ToS. Cheat program users and botters probably believe their stuff shouldn't be against ToS either, but it is, and they can't argue their way out of it any more than macro users can argue their way out of macros being against ToS. Logging out of the game is a single server-side action. One press, one result. This specific instance has been explicitly okayed by Grinding Gear. Their system is simple, concise, and easy to understand - a macro is allowed to shorten an in-game command, and that is just about it. If you want to set a macro to have your character bellow "MOOYA!" in local chat whenever you press a button so you can crow over boss deaths without having to bring up the chat system and type out the shout every time, that's okay. The sending of the message "MOOYA!" over local chat is a single server-side action. It's an annoying use of macros but a legal one. One button press, one game action. Easy, not ambiguous at all, and more than fair. Stop encouraging people to break ToS because you're bent out of shape over macro rules. She/Her

Dude chill out.
You don't need to justify to me why you use a log out macro when GGG have said it's fine. I only said i don't think it should be allowed because it requires 2 button presses to exit the game. If GGG implemented a way to log out by pressing a single button then it wouldn't be an issue and there would be no reason to use a log out macro. You're already a badass player with a ferrari who gets laid every 2 hours IRL just because you play hardcore, you don't need to convince me you're still a legend because you use a log out macro. Edit: Do you play hardcore? All your characters are on standard. Oh well you're still a god to me m8 ;) Editado por útlima vez por Ezzi#7594 en 5 abr. 2017 11:51:02

I don't play hardcore, no.
I simply don't see any meaningful difference between most macro functions and cheating. It's an argument I've had with plenty of players across plenty of games, but unlike most of those games, in this one the rules are clear-cut and fair to all parties. You can use a macro to shortcut a lengthy in-game command or command sequence, so long as that shortcut produces a single in-game action. You cannot use a macro to do anything but the above. Automated flask use macros are against ToS. Automated logouts are against ToS. Automated anything is against ToS, because that is cheating. Telling people "Well you might get banned for this because it's technically against ToS, but you proooobably won't be so go ahead and try it if you like because I figure it shouldn't be against ToS" is a dick move. You can sass me all you like, but that doesn't change what the rules are. She/Her
