Don't worry guys I have it on good authority that Chris will be patching in those changes in a minor update right after the Spider model change is introduced!

I've translated the original email from the OP for clarity!
" Thanks for your email, and I'm sorry for the delayed response (Are you really still messaging us about this.....?). The developers have been made aware of your request for an arachnophobia model switch option. (And laughed their asses off!!!) Please let us know if you have any other questions or issues and we'll do our best to assist you with them. (I've just fobbed you off basically, we're not actually doing this.) Best regards, Dan " |

Rationalisation such as "other people do X and are completely fine and it's totally safe" doesn't work, because it's an irrational fear. You can't just say "oh I'm not afraid anymore", because your mind is quite convinced that you are, in fact, terrified. That's why it almost always requires actual therapy.
Not convinced about the name? I am only afraid of real spiders that walk. If they sit still, and I have not seen the spider move, it's... Acceptable. Once it has moved, it needs to go. Now. It's pretty obvious that any spider that is alive and has legs can in fact move around, but that does not make them inherently problematic to my completely batshit brain. (as for the actual idea: I am entirely ambivalent) |

Yep I'm the only one that suffer from arachnophobia in video game, so they always make no spider mods exclusively for me ^^
Like in skyrim I was so happy that i downloaded the mod more than 30.000 times and made it one of the most popular :) Same with dragon age, legend of grimrock, dark messiah of might and magic, divinity original sin ... Modders seems to really like me :) Now on a more serious note, I know it's a lot to ask and they probably have others things to do, I just thought it was best to try than not ^^ [Edit] " Wow... I've seen a lot of stupid responses regarding arachnophobia over the years, but this one is without a doubt the most stupid thing i've ever read :) Congrats ! Exactly your mind is irrationally convinced you're terrified of something that you shouldn't be. So best way to deal with that is to get over it, whether that is by yourself or with someone holding your hand via therapy. What isn't a good idea is to expect everything else to change around you so you don't have to face your fears. Like removing spiders from a game...really? I thought a fear of actual spiders was irrational, but a fear of virtual spiders verges on the insane in my opinion.
And yes mouimoui I appreciate you're not the only one with a fear of spiders and it can't hurt to ask, good luck with that. My personal opinion however is that you should man up and stop being scared of virtual spiders and not make efforts to try and bend things to suit that irrational fear. |

" As you admitted that you whine about spiders on many games, now i am curious, were you the one who was whining about spiders on "might and magic X legacy"? EDIT: Instead of overcoming your own personal problem you demand other around you to change. I had no idea this was an issue in games, very interesting!

I cry like a 4 year old for a tiny lil spider. This one time at band camp, I almost broke the nose to a guy who threw one at me.
But the world should not adapt to the irrational crazies. Remember, arachnophobia is a choice. A kid playing computer games can never be — and never has been — hardcore.
