[3.1] GLADIATOR 1H+Shield Max Block&Spell Block Tank + a BoR version

I started playing again recently ever since I put the game on hiatus since open beta.
The first build I tried to pick up was a block build I theorycrafted forth and it went alright.

To the point though, how do you get 78% block chance (anvil included) in this build? Do you need to rely on Rumi's? The tree alone grants 23% or so block (not sure if my POE builder applies the ascendancy points), the anvil gives 8%, a good shield or Aegis gives 32% which all sums up to 63%. What about the remaining 15%?

Thank you in advance!

This may have been asked already, but there's some debate as to whether this build is better as a Duelist-Gladiator to free up gear slots, or a Templar-Inquisitor, for damage bonuses.

Obviously the two builds mirror one another, but I was wondering what you think for the difference, what makes you favor the Gladiator defensive bonuses over the Inquisitor damage ones?

This is just pure personal preference, but resolute technique makes all the difference in the world to me. Plus, playing HC, Gladiator looks more appealing.

Hey Serge, big fan of your builds! I decided to take inspiration from this particular build and try to create my own facebreaker + BoR + Great Old One's Ward max block gladiator build, and stacking as much phys (on rings, meginord's, etc...) dmg as possible. Still haven't settled on a skill gem as I can't decide between ice crash/infernal blow.

If you aren't busy or have the time, any chance you can take a quick look at my skill tree and give me your thoughts :D? poeurl.com/x7e. Thanks for your time regardless, man, your builds are awesome!

Also open to reviews or comments from pretty much anyone, I'm not the most experienced player :).

The res nodes at Scion are pretty much a waste, IMO, you should be able to max out your res on gear without it. Also, the ev/ar nodes below duelist can be better specced too. Use those nodes rather for more life or more DPS, for example, like this:
Good luck out there! :)

Do you have an updated leveling tree or is it mostly the same path for 2.2? Between this with sunder and a tornado shot build

The tree is updated, just check the first post of this thread.

"(get RT as soon as possible - making a shorter route to it, you'll have to respec later):" can you elaborate on this for the newbies please?

Early on in the game, your damage will suffer because your accuracy for attacks is extremely low as Marauder. Going for Resolute Technique (RT) as soon as possible nullifies this, as RT makes ALL your attacks automatic hits, with the downised that you never make critical strikes. Since this isn't a crit build, however, this is no downside for us.

I know these might sound like very noobish questions, but I haven't played POE in a year and a half and a lot has changed since then, not to mention I'm broke.

But basically I wanted to pick your brain and hear your thoughts on a dual-wield version of the build.

At the moment my current build has all the frenzy charge nodes and endurance nodes and I use BoR slotted with Cyclone. I USED to stack evade + dodge + block but I think they changed Acrobatics since last I played. Unless I'm mistaken. So my old build is no longer viable and I feel like I'm basically stuck halfway between a Flicker build and a Block build.

This might not be the best place to ask so I do not wish to waste your time but figured I'd give it a try.

I was theorycrafting dualwield myself, but it's not in a good spot right now. Yes, you can make a viable build, but it will need some decent gear investment. And yes, acrobatics isn't doable with block anymore, since it reduces your block chance. You could go non-BoR dual wield. IMO, that is a better choice, since BoR was nerfed so many times, it really is questionable if it's worth it. The tree I remember making for this had near-max block (but not 75%).

You get block chance from the ascendancy tree, which is not counted in the 23% you mentioned. Also, using Tempest Shield gives you an additional 3%.

Completely agree with this, it almost always is just a matter of personal preference between build that are that similar. It is your call to decide what you like more.

Have you got the chance to see some streamers using Earthquake ( I think Mathil was using it as a 2H, IIRC )? It seems very strong and the new Less Duration makes it even more appealing right now.

What do you think?
