[3.1] GLADIATOR 1H+Shield Max Block&Spell Block Tank + a BoR version

Hi ComradeSerge,

I'm currently following this build (only at act 4 normal yet due to family, but it's working great so far). When I look at your initial post, however, I have some questions:

1. You are using Chaos Golem. That's an int skill gem and according to the wiki, it requires 146 int at level 17. The tree gives you 64 intelligence added to the Duelist's starting 14. That's only 78. Doesn't this mean you will need a great amount of int on your gear to use this gem, or is this a mistype and should be the Flame Golem? I just picked up the Chaos Golem gem as a reward in act 4, but found that I couldn't use it with the requirement of 86 at level 3 or something. Could you clarify and also elaborate on your reasoning for the Golem choice?

2. There are indeed a lot of skills specified in the build, and you already answered a few posts above that Enduring Cry was only used for Atziri, but from what I understand now with the Tempest Shield change, you need Chaos Golem, Blood Rage, Tempest Shield, Main attack, Immortal Call, Vaal Molten Shell, Warlord's Mark and Leap Slam as your activated skills, and the two auras as one-time casts, correct? That's a total of 8 activated skills, which means you have to shuffle your skills during active play if you have forced movement on your left mouse button - or is the Golem tanky enough to stay alive through several zones? It would be super to know if there are any other skills you are using only for certain content, or how you are shuffling the skills in your build.

3. The gear you link to seems to have the old setup with Infernal Blow from patch 1.3. Is this correct or are you still using Infernal Blow in 2.0?

Thank you beforehand!

EDIT: I forgot Warlord's Mark, which increases the active skills to 8.

The Fortify skillwheel is not worth it? it would be right on the way.
I realized that fortify works quite well in place of increased AOE for Ice crash. Though the exact difference would depend more on single target or multiple target situation.
Yeah but i meant the Fortify Skillnodes :-) More Damage while the buff is up, increased duration etc.

1. You don't have to have level the golem to 20, you can use him at whatever level is available to you. The point is to get his physical damage reduction, which is 3% at all levels till lvl17, when it gets to 4%. If you can't run lvl20 or lvl17, it doesnt matter, it's still useful.

2. left mouse = movement, middle mouse = vaal molten shell, right mouse = main attack skill
q = warlrods mark, w = leap slam, e = blood rage, r = tempest shield, t = summon chaos golem

you dont need IC, enduring cry except for atziri or other rare special situations; you cast auras when you start playing

3. It's the gear on my standard character, obviously. Besides, what does it matter what gems are in that gear?

Thanks for your reply!

Regarding question 3, I was just wondering since you still have that link in the build for 2.0, if any of that was still relevant. Now I know it's not. =)
Don't look at my gems in my gear, look at the gem links section of the first post :)

Hey Sergeant

i cant fully understand ur choice to take the longer route on the bottom strength nodes beetween 40 and 62 skilltree

the short path costs only 2skill points the long one 3

do u intend to pick rampart or hemartophagy later on?
or is it to have more strength?

looking forward for ur answer
It's the same amount of points, look again :)

To connect the tree, you have to take a strength node to the right as well.
