Mine Started yesterday. Game would freeze, couldn't even ctrl + alt + del nothing would work. It was strange becuz I run duel monitors and i could click tabs in my browser after it happened until then nothing would respond. Forcing a hard reboot. I deleted the client file to redownload it and it seems to even do the freeze while trying to download the game. So far I have updated my video drivers, tested me memory and it was 100% Pass. Checked my CPU temp and all seems normal. Can anyone shed any light?

I've played a while since my last tests. And since I've updated the drivers to 331.82 and/or removed geforce experience, I only freezed twice. It will be ok for me.
@Teyo: You should search what changed on you computer yesterday. I don't see how your problem can be caused by poe: there was no recent patch, and freezing while downloading is very peculiar. |

My problem occured without doing anything. I've updated video drivers now and it still did it and i just removed geforce experience to see if it makes a difference.

This same thing just started happening to me yesterday, have never had this happen in the 1000+ hours I've played PoE until yesterday.
I don't have anything overclocked, running an intel system, with nvidia 770 card. I hadn't changed anything, no updated drivers, nothing, and PoE locked up my computer 4 times yesterday, then more times today. This is not a bsod (or theres no bsod screen anyway), the first few times, it just froze up solid with whatever was on the screen staying there. At first I thought it was a hardware problem, but my gfx card is only 2 months old, and works fine with everything else. I just played arma 3 for about an hour with no problems, and that works the gfx card much harder than PoE does. Next, I tried updating my drivers to the beta driver(was running the latest release drivers before), and with this driver, PoE locks up the computer the instant I click the login button on a character on the character select screen. Since the driver update, the lockups are now solid colored screens, last one was blue on one monitor, and red on the other monitor. edit: I'm thinking this must be a driver issue, but its strange that it just started when it worked fine with the same driver for over a month, and nothing has changed. It also may have something to do with having 2 monitors, I noticed at least one of the other posters said he had 2 monitors. I had a similar problem with another game, I don't remember which game, but the only way to fix it was to physically unplug one of the monitors from the PC when playing that game. " I'm having the same problem. My notebook had an i5 1.6ghz with hd-3000 and I could run the game on low but normaly, now I got myself (less than a week ago) a desktop with fx-4300 and gforce 550Ti and those crashes appeared. The PC freezes completely, only way out is hard rebooting it. Thing is that I only use 1 monitor. |

I confirm the dual monitor display is a probable cause.
Sometimes I played in dual (with the second screen switched off :p). And recently I carefully checked my display before launching poe. Since then I've got no problem. |
