Blood Magic Melee Builds & Variants
" I never used RMC for main skills, 50+ mana mod on 1 item and mana flows + x2 8% mana passives and 2-3% manaleech on gear more then enough for manage melee atacks with 3 dps support gems and 3 auras. I have 3 different melee rangers, here their main atack skill setup: Kaom's heart+DW swords No disponible No Kaom's+DW swords No disponible No Kaom's+1h and board No disponible Algunos objetos de esta publicación no se encuentran disponibles actualmente.

On further thought, with the Blood Magic build in mind, I might go for something like this instead of going to wards duelist nodes:
link - Get another 32% life (total +182% from passives) - Opens up a +6% to All resistances As for Shield nodes I still don't see it. A little extra blocking, and otherwise the armor rating is inferior to the gains from Armor/Evasion nodes. For example a single 8% A/E node next to Unwavering Stance gives more armor rating than the 30% Shield Defences node. This is logical, since A/E benefits the whole gear. Why not dual wield though? At this point I'm not sure why I am using a shield. If I want block then I think I'd rather pick dual wield + block nodes. Editado por útlima vez por DeF46#3887 en 17 ene. 2013 14:49:50

" That would also be a question I'd ask you, since the point of having a shield is not just the extra resists/armor it gives you but a chance to block x% of attacks, reducing the number of times you actually take with armor... though sacrificing DPS in the process. I rolled a Duelist in Legacy, and frankly it's much better to go Duelist with dual-wielding than it is from the Ranger tree. Quest rewards are also more suited for melee than the Ranger is and that's something I wish would change in OB. You can block while dual wielding too you know.

" If you pick up all available block chance while dual wielding nodes in the Ranger/Duelist tree, you get a total of 29%. Not bad as you get to avoid almost a third of all attacks through blocking. However, with shield passives, you get to block roughly 23% of all attacks with shield (the closest Shield passives without traveling too far from Duelist/Ranger tree) PLUS additional block chance from your shield, which can be anywhere from 20% to 30%+, almost halving all your incoming attacks by blocking. Most people who roll dual-wielding don't invest in blocking as it's simply far more efficient to focus on damage and survivability passives. Since you will be in melee and since your AOE will be melee and will come from LS, why don't you take point blank? I think the extra point there is really useful since it adds 50% more dmg to your projectiles from LS.
Oh and if you wonder if it works with LS or not here is the oficial statement unless something changed in the meantime or will change in OB. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/23988/page/3#p693959 |
