The EAST coast of CANADA is not Vancouver

I can't understand why on the login screen the lowest ping server shows as "Canada (East)" 16ms ping
I pick that.
Login and I'm connected to a server in Vancouver (the west coast)
and I have 65-70 ping?

Please GGG what is going on.

Sometimes you get server 184.107.57.229 in Montreal most of the time you get 79.127.233.209 in Vancouver

Neither of them give me 16ms ping.

If a player selects Canada EAST you need to make sure it never sends them to the Vancouver server map to map or it's pointless to even bother.

I have to use the Washington server because at least it won't be random unplayable ping map to map.

Seeing the same from Ontario.

The Canada East login server appears to be in Toronto (as low as 16ms), but the instance server I connected to was 79.127.233.209 or similar in Vancouver (78-109ms), after being routed through a smorgasbord of locations in the US.

This has been the case for the past month, only occasionally connecting to Montreal (~32ms).

Ontario here also my brother.

Getting sent to a different server than the one you requested happens when the location you selected is at capacity and can't support any more instances.

Unless it's being forced to stay in country for regulatory reasons, falling back to Vancouver instead of Washington is a blunder. 🤦‍♂️

Small note, in the dozens of attempts I made in the past 8 months, I never got a ping under 80ms, but right now I got a few 13ms today in a few instances!
It's the first time since settlers league, so that's got me optimistic.

Today I'm only getting the issue in A2 town, which seems to corroborate what Summoner#6275 said, but I must point out that I had the 80ms+ ping 100% of the time in my hideout in PoE1 for the last 8 months, and today was the first time that my hideout (in PoE2 however), showed a low 13ms ping.

I'd like to add that 79.127.233.210 is a Vancouver IP, which is is the farthest WEST of Canada. PoE doesn't even LIST a Canada West option in the available servers, so that's weird.
That's like ~3700km apart. For reference, that's roughly the same distance as between Seatle and New York.

I'm curious if this is still happening? If GGG doesn't have an official Canada West location it seems like the hosting provider is doing it's own internal over capacity handling instead of handing it back to GGG's infrastructure. That should be an easy configuration change on GGG or the hosting providers part.
