Using Archmage means 80-90% of your damage, regardless of skill, is Lightning, and all Lightning damage already contributes to Shock Chance.

This ascendancy is thus, utterly useless at large.

In theory, it could be useful so you could use Three Dragons to freeze and shock, but even though the description would lead you to think it works, it doesn't.
