I'm probably not explaining very well.

What happens is, we burn some life, Agnostic burns *some* mana to replenish that - but we aren't losing life faster than Agnostic can replenish it, so Agnostic is only active in very short burts, which is why we can maintain the mana burn rate. The game works in tics, of which there are many per second, but for the sake of this, lets look at it in terms of 1 second.

So with RF running and Agnostic healing us, in one second we:
- burn 428 life.
- burn 428 mana to replenish that life.
However, for most of that second, we're at full life, so no Agnostic running, so... ~3600 mana regen left over.

If we express that in terms of single points... for every point of burn damage we take, the game burns a point of mana to heal it, then regens another 8-9 points of mana, then we loop to burning a point of damage.

When I go back and read over this, seems clear as mud to me, and I already understand it. Hope it helps some, anyway.

Thank you that was very well explained.

I am sure once I start playing the build the mechanics will become much more clear than just trying to read the POB.

My friend just messaged me on Discord to show me my Maven video was linked in this guide, didn't even know about it until now but that's super cool I'm surprised you wanted to use my crappy gameplay to showcase the build haha, thanks !!

hope it's okay! glad to see the build getting played :)

It is totally fine, I'm thrilled about it even - thanks!
I haven't even had any thoughts about rerolling cause I love the build a lot, I have experimented with a few things on it (was using CotB and Trinity in that Maven) and plan to continue playing it to 100. Big fan

Hey, about Trinity... how many resonance stacks are you typically sitting at?

Feel free to message me in game if I'm on.
this might be a stupid question but where does most of our mana regen come from?

hi i'm new to the game and and i have a question about Onslaught, does it work in this build or not? We take Avarat of the Chase in out tree but this requires Onslaught
Hey, first of all thanks alot for the guide, I really like the MoM Agnostic Playstyle and its working quite good so far. But tbh i realized that i don't really like BF/BB in the long run... Is it viable to play Stormbrand instead? I saw a few people on poe.ninja swapping that in (I should be similar to hier Archmage SB)

Thanks for your help!

Yes onslaught works very well in this build.

The build is based on movement speed and cast speed, both of which onslaught helps.

The build also uses Vigilant Strike to apply Fortify so even the attack speed buff from onslaught is used.

Technically, all the damage in this build is coming from Archmage. The point of the build is to scale up your mana pool as high as you can get it for the most damage. Blade blast is just giving us lots of hits with the archmage lightning damage in an overlapping aoe area in rapid succession. You can technically use any ability that works with archmage to deliver multiple hits at once really. storm brand is ok for that along with ball lightning for example. It is easy enough to convert it over.

right got it but tell me one more - why clear mind cobalt jewel with "% increased Spell Damage while no Mana is Reserved" if we use clarity and wrath??

you should never use clarity and wrath, the clear mind is an error on the clarity setup. You can still use it for the mana regen though.

You can use clarity with clear mind if you link clarity to an arrogance support gem though. Since I haven't gone to the point where I am comfortable switching over to using agnostic only, I have both vitality and clarity linked with arrogance for now. While the regen isn't nearly as high as the agnostic is, I am sitting at a good amount of regen for now for both health and mana.
