I've been wondering, what's the point of taking Mastermind of Discord? Exposure doesn't matter since Carrion Golems are phys only, so is the ascendancy only for the mana regen?

I'm not sure if 3.18 is just really rippy but with just chaos, stone and carrion + brass dome my friend is still get 1-shoted alot.
What are the other sources for tank? |
