[3.10] Gryph's Spellslingin Volatile+Detonate Dead Necromancer. A LL+Block+Sturdy Girl
Ok, I've got a few questions of my own sadly.
Currently I am playing the life version of a similar build, using inpulsa etc etc yadda yadda, feeling neither as tanky as I want to be nor dealing sufficient enough damage, now that could just be a operator fault i.e me not smart orc. But I am wondering, the thing I seem to die to the most is mobs being left alive for too long, especially by the hand of "allies cannot die" mod on a bamf waddling towards me at the speed of moss. Would or does Detonate dead help in that regard, as you can more aim it at the target rather than my projectiles slowly wearing it down by proxy of damaging enemies in front? Also awakened spell cascade, it was said somewhere that awakened spell cascade does nothing extra compared to normal spell cascade, as normal version already spawns more than enough corpses, is this not true, or is it different from your version of this build as you essentially have 2 skills that consume corpses? Also you being both spell and attack block cap (whereas I am lacking quite a bit on the spell block part on my life build) as well as being elemental ailment immune add to that, having herald of ash, well now that does make my jingle tingle and really does draw me towards doing a little respec of my own. Uhm yeah, you did a very good job on this guide and I am loving the picture on the frontpage ^^ Edit: Realize this was a little bit lenghtier than I meant to so: TLDR: does Detonate Dead in the link help significantly with single target, and does awakened spell cascade provide us with alot more corpses (is that the reason its such an upgrade?) " Right now I have 75/67 Attack/spell block but spell cap is very possible (shield suffix would do it, for example) As for Awakened Spell Cascade, the discussion has been whether or not it is beneficial on Desecrate. And it's pointless as far as I can tell. However, you definitely want to have it on your main link setup as it will allow you to consume more corpses consistently and this more damage and also more movement speed via Shield Charge. Regarding Detonate Dead, YES! It allows you to single out specific monsters really well and does a monstrous amount of damage compared to Volatile Dead for single target. The corpse explosion aspect of the skill adding a lot with corpse pact boost and DD's 6% corpse life as base fire damage. Another determining factor for me is that it deals its damage instantly whereas VD has a delay in its damage output. So I can target a pack of monsters, kill them, and then let the Volatiles fly around cleaning up what I miss or go ahead of me and do the same. The only downside to DD is the extra mana reserve compared to just a 6th link on VD alone, but it's also significantly more damage than a 6th |

That's really good to hear, by the by, I was also wondering, how and when do you use vaal DD, because in my mind, you already have 2 skills that consume the corpses so I'm just curious in what situation can you use the vaal skill?

" Never. The gem was like 2c for a level 21 Vaal DD. :P |

Aaah I see.
Any way to properly calculate the dps in pob of VD builds btw, I'd love to learn which settings and buttons to push to see roughly what I'll be getting from swapping from inpulsa life to LL etc Also I dont get how you dont have more views on this guide, it's beautifully made and super informative and also, you actually respond in the thread unlike many many others, it really puzzles me Editado por útlima vez por Chridian#2796 en 20 abr. 2020 4:02:19

Thanks for the great build guide Gryph, having lots of fun with it!
Just picked up a second awakened spell cascade for desecrate, and although it's not an exact science, I can count 14-15 VD balls per cast, compared to 10 with regular spell cascade, when testing in my HO. |

Hey there,
not sure what to say. After I decided to burry my Nekromancer due to huge lag on a life based VD, it just felt wrong to let the gear in my stash without completing at least another challange to hit 36 for the wings. So I leveled an Assassin, tried out poison, leveled a slayer, tired out cyclone...and...finally...came back to my Nekromancer thanks to your guide. The simulacrum I recently did was a joke, I facetanked two bosses in wave 20 at the same time. To be a reliable on that point, I have to repeat that a few times I guess due to the changing mods but it felt better than any other build I had before in 3.10 (once I got used to recast those annoying war cries). My gear:
Spoiler
The two tings I am not happy with are the gloves (no dex) and the wand (poor fire). When I farmed up a bit more currency I will try to craft a better shield (more ES) and also better boots (finally with ES). My stats: Block/Spell Block: 75/69 (61/59 without Flasks) Phys. reduction: 49 (26 without Flasks) Res: 76/75/76/70 (158/101/81) Happy to hear your improvements EDIT: I crafted this today - pretty happy about the result. if you nerf 10 gems out of 30, you automatically buff the other 20! How did you go about crafting that wand Ibims?
And also how much ES are you sitting at? I'm just trying to gather data before I inevitably make the swap from lie to LL as well ^^ |
