[RIP Best build of 3.9]

Can anyone help? Lvl 64 and constantly dying on white maps. Damage is non-existent and I get melted immediately even though the char already has around 5k eHP after spirit offering.

I know I have some easy things to improve: Dying Sun/Swapped Gloves+Boots/Gem Level/Quality and totems... BUT I have some level reqs for them and should be able to swap out by 70. More than that, I thought this setup would at least be enough to continue leveling for the time being. I'm not sure what's going wrong.

I'm not even confident enough to run Merc lab to improve right now...

Have you had the chance to look at why my ignite is showing up at about 45k dps when the gear is almost exactly the same as the guide? I posted my PoB back on page 12 and I really don't understand why the damage is nowhere near what I imagine it should be, neither on PoB or in practice. I am definitely missing something.

You should get some damage boost when you reach Spiritual Aid on the skill tree. Other than that just leveling gems should help.
I ran with defense/damage mitigation as focus from level 50ish and up. And at level 92 I've gone all out defensive...
Even swapped out Spirit Offering with Bone offering. Been running Tier 14-16. Did fail hard on Sirus on my first try (never done that boss before) - phase 3 obliterated me. Also have had troubles with no regen maps. That's why I've switched back to Thief's Torment again.

You are looking at 5 fuse ignite. If you go into "Calcs" and choose "Explosive arrow" in "Socket Group", you'll see you have 7939 ignite damage.

To find out your real ignite damage you have to make a copy of this spread sheet and fill in your numbers:

Using your PoB url I get your ignite damage to be close to 1.4 million. You skill duration is low (get high qual on EA). Your ignite duration is quite low. You fire 5 arrows (not that much). GMP + Barrage + Dying Sun = 10 arrows. Even tho I've switched out GMP for Aw. Deadly Ailments - gives around same damage for my setup right now.

Remember to check your main hand chance to hit. Mine is at 99%.

Thank you so much! It turned out my lack of damage was from not having Corpse Pact. The increased attack speed from it was game changing. And I didn't realize that Spiritual Aid was so important - the life inc on minions + the damage inc does so much for ignite.

Now that I have damage I might prioritize defense like you mentioned and take Thief's Torment back in. I really should have gone all the way to 70 on a necro build :P

fyi, the totem will help A LOT on the ignite damage. And the less duration i never use, because it`ll cause to deacrease the amount of arrow you`ll have on the enemy. I use awakened burning damage(cheap). And for bossing (not necessary) you can change for deadly ailments (only for real boss fight, but it isnt necessary)

And for everybody, try to keep the spawn sequence of the helmet as Desecrate, spirit offering, volatile dead (spell cascade doesnt matter the position), because the regen, when you are single target you can get yourself without body for spirit offering.....this will affect the regen and att speed.
survivability is a big issue, we really need some way to mitigate chaos res, might have to run an amethyst flask / atziri's

for flasks, i found that staunching is generally nto really required, corrupted blood is what kills us so it's psosible to drop the flask and grab a corruption, freeing up a flask suffix.

anyway, can someone take a look at my gear and tell me how to improve? dps feels bad atm, i'm sure part of it is due to EA not being fully leveled but even then...

Probably the skill gems will make the bigger boost. But, for bossing, change your less duration for burning damage (awakened is cheap). . the quality on the explosive arrow will help more than the level itself for bossing.

A good and cheap upgrade would be abrasive catalyst on your belt....faster ignites. And Turbulent on the taming, also cheap.

Get used to the times of the skill will greatly enhance the damage. Remember the way we deal the big damage is, stacking arrows on the "skill effect duration"(before explosion).

other big thing that matter, accuracy, check your chance to hit on EA. We need to get close to 100%.

Sorry, I can't find the mistake. Your POB looks fine to me. With Malevolence and Flammability activated your damage numbers seem to be comparable to mine. Note that the POB numbers are very misleading, since it only displays the damage for 5 fuses and doesn't include the inherent ignite multiplier from explosive arrow. You can use the google spreadsheet I linked in the guide to calculate your real damage. As Victor pointed out, totems (or additional arrows in general) would also boost your boss damage.

Edit: Ah, I just saw that Twiik already gave you a probably better answer ;)

Been messing around with this build some, just barely got the basics up and running but it seems really fun. High damage and very good leech, although it is a bit slow at the moment as I haven't finished gemming. I expect this to only get better as I still have a high miss chance due to not yet having the accuracy gem the build recommends.

For those having issues with damage: The order in which you socket the gems in your helmet is key to getting the correct attack speed bonuses.
