[3.20] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
" If it works for you, sure. Note we don't take any minion support passives at all. |

"All this would do is add 3 “storms” to the 5 while taking away 2 damage scaling gems. You wouldn’t even get use of EE to try and make up for losing penetration, and you’d just swap out frostbite for flammability. This just isn’t a good option. So far, stacking 15 Vortex AoE DoT’s on top of 10 Frostbolts is clearly the best option. It’s the only thing that doesn’t interrupt ice storms while giving us 10:1 and 5:1 up to 15:1 additive damage per 5:1 ice storms. It also blankets the entire screen making spell cascade (gem swap) completely unnecessary. It’s very similar to the Cospri CoC Ice Nova Assassin concept, except we’re replacing Nova’s with Vortexes. But like that build, we are getting free Vortexes generated from Frostbolts. We just don’t have to manage our volume with cool down recovery speed because CwC is generating Frostbolts and we’re self-casting “instant” Vortex at the same time. Hell, I don’t know if this would be illegal or not (maybe GGG can clarify?), but we could put cyclone on our right mouse button, and then simply map the key Vortex is on to also be the right mouse button, and effectively one-button the entire process. If that’s not permitted, then obviously just manually hold down both keys. But if it is okay, well... makes this easy. |

" You can do the Nun Lock Trick to auto cast vortex 1 - Exange one of the skill shortcuts with NunPad 4 than put vortex; 2 - with NunLock ON, hold NumPad 4; 3 - while holding NunPad 4 turn OFF the NunLock; 4 - Release NunPad 4; There is your vortex autocast! To turn it off just press NunPad 4 Again! You guys played all this time with vortex and dont use the trick? :-O Just a tip, it only work with "instant" skills! Enjoy the QoL ;-) Editado por útlima vez por whiterockx en 18 sept. 2020 4:21:26

i dont know why they didnt make it 5strom max per area so if u use spell cascade u can put 5 storms in ea area so the boss dmg will drop but the a o e and fun of moveing and cycoling stay...

So just to reconfirm: is awakened GMP a no-no?
Should not it increase the total number or projectiles in the storm? |

"Not really. What are you removing for cold to fire gem (effectively a 29% more multiplier)? Ele focus (loss of 20% dmg)? Controlled destruction (loss of 14% dmg)? Or Conc effect (loss of 24% dmg)? So you’re going to lose 14% damaged per ice shard just to convert to fire, and effectively add 3 more storms? Nah. You’d be better off just adding Firestorm to a 6L WI staff and then taking EE. Both Ice Storm and Firestorm would do more damage than if converted, and both would alternate randomly taking advantage of EE depending on hit sequence. Even then, I still don’t like this more than simply stacking frostbolts and vortexes. Ice storm shards are going to have a hard limit of 25 (5 storms x 5 shards per), and Firestorm is going to have a hard limit of 21 projectiles (3 storms x 7 meteors). So 46 hard-capped and then duration becomes irrelevant as every new projectile replaces an existing one. On top of this, it’s going to take 5 seconds to ramp up to that 46 projectiles. Meanwhile, with my Frostbolt/Vortex idea, can do 10 frostbolts per second and 5 vortexes, with no hard-cap, except what duration can sustain. So in that same 5 seconds needed to generate 46 ice storm/firestorm projectiles, I can generate 50 frostbolts and 25 vortexes. Of which 15 of those vortexes also have the potential to persistently overlap their AoE DoT’s. This means there’s an effective average damage hit potential of 100 vs 46. Now of course, not every ice shard, meteor, frostbolt, or vortex is going to hit, but I’ll still take over double the damage sources any day of the week. And add to this we don’t have to add flammability to the curse setup (which means get to keep enfeeble) and we get better damage scaling since no cold to fire gem, and vortex is really scaled up since on its own 6L, and we still get to also take advantage of bonechill. Which would have otherwise been lost with fire conversion. Seriously, even just on paper it’s easy to see your suggestion doesn’t warrant testing. Sorry.
