Hi All,
Hope you're doing good.
So I just got to 95, and wanted to post my POB Here.
Just as context.. I'm not very good at POB and or very good at PoE, so there is likely a lot of mistakes have been made.
I decided to take a cluster jewel that gives Overlord and Feed the Fury - my theory was that i'm ALWAYS leeching mana when I spam slam - so the dmg and speed increase should be good (please let me know if this is wrong..)
I've also picked up a watcher's eye with 2x pride buff (double dmg and phys dmg - as well as a vitality buff to boost).
I feel as though something is off though. I'd love some inputs.
Also.. I'm sure someone can understand this, but I am absolutely sick to death of casting totems - my fingers are going to explode keeping swapping to the secondary skill tree. Am I doing this wrong?
Can you please post your skillbars so I understand how you guys are setting up please?
@Quariakas - I'm also wondering whether I could swap to a different weapon setup now. I have the money for it, I'd just need some guidance as well.
Thanks a lot guys, and sorry if my POB is super noob and there's lots of mistakes.. I'm mainly a d3 player, quite basic.
I actually like the piano style of play because it makes me feel more like I'm playing an action game than a point and click game. I played Righteous Fire for a few leagues and it was kind of boring that I could do it all with just the mouse. So about our skills. Did you know that weapon swapping allows you a full second set of bars? I use that for my auras so that I don't have to put them on the second set (which for me is +cntrl).
Here is my default bar
Here is my bar+cntrl. I only have one totem because I decided to skip the second DPS totem to include Molten Shell and Cast When Damage Taken for more defense. I have Herald of Purity here because it needs the int from Tidebreaker for me to activate. I am just used to hitting cntrl+F to throw out my totem because it is just used before I fight a boss, pop an expedition, or open a breach.
Ok, so here is the big one. I use a weapon swap to activate all of my auras but Herald of Purity. I swap to my secondary set, and this is my bar I use to activate all of them. The default swap key is "x" so you hit that, activate the auras, then hit "x" again and you are ready to rock.
So I am leap slamming with D because it is naturally the key I use easily.
Then, I pianoQ,W, and E while I fight. I will hit R and F when I need to refresh Blood Rage or pop Berserk. I only hit cntrl when I need to refresh the totem, which is only during harder fights.

Does that make sense?
This was super helpful mate, i'd actually completely forgot about X! That makes my town-life so much easier - thanks.
I've also moved some skills around to different keys to make my life geenrally easier too.
I'm going to look into a different Eye now.. I can't believe I thought that the cry only had a chance of Double Dmg! Damn, I need to pick up another one now. Probably +Phys +Crit reduction
Thanks also for the cry quality reminder.. I totally meant to buy them last week and just completely forgot.
I've noticed on your PoB btw you don't use Vaal GS, is there a reason for that, and if so - where would you place it on your skillbar if you did?
I really appreciate the help mate. Really good tips

I don't use the Vaal skills ever because I never had a good place for them on the bar! Now that I use the weapon swap technique I am going to try it out and put it on ctrl+R.
Brill - that's actually similar to where i've put mine. I'm testing CWDT and MS now and god I much prefer the 1 (+vaal) totem and everything just feels so much smoother at my fingers!
Holy shit. I don't know if I had changed my hotkeys years ago but I never knew you could activate the secondary skill bar without seeing it. I feel like that's going to improve my combat effectiveness by like 15% ooh baby. Thanks!
I feel pretty strong now. I just need to craft my gloves and boots better. Been spending divines worth of veiled orbs trying to get exactly what I want. :)
Do you guys have any suggestions or critiques for me? If I switched to str fire dmg, would I really get that much more damage?
Specifically the weapon. I haven't really seen anyone provide a strong answer lately as to when we should forgo tide bringer for a different weapon. Ever? Lol. I have inspiration and increased phys as the implicits on mine. Feels smooth.
Does combust from infernal cry actually scale with our damage? Or is it essentially a .001% boost? I have 5 warcries with second wind in my body armour. With ancestral cry in my offhand. (I know the offhand exerts will disappear when I swap back to my mainhand. I just use it for "each time you have warcried recently. Basically useless logistically)

Also just started levelling this yesterday. So far it's been nice and smooth. Still in the tweaking stage to work out how much attack speed I need to make the build good vs other types of damage nodes / toughness.
I'm deviating a little bit in that I'll be using an axe instead of a tidebringer. I'll still have a 7-link though as I'll be grabbing the Tukohama's War Herald Chieftain ascendancy from a Forbidden Flesh / Flame Combo. Hopefully that will work out ok.
Also using the Gull & Blunderbore combo for a lot of extra AoE. Hoping I can then use Conc Effect without feeling like I'm sacrificing too much AoE. I'm trying to make it so there's less variance in the damage each hit so not planning on using a Ryslatha's or the Ruthless support gem. That might all change later down the line though if necessary.
blunderbore is one of my all time fav combos for speed mapping. the chieftain jewels are neat too, but i think i prefer shadow slams vs the fist of war
once you hit a good amount of dmg for mapping, i generally go more aoe/attackspeed/defensives. i used awakened inc aoe alot since it has a more dmg multi too iirc
for someone who is new, ive looked at your POB and some other ones for groundslam.. i dont usually see chaos res or spell supress is that something to put on gear? im new so im not sure
very much so, get those affixes on gear if you can afford it :) my gear in pob is usually starter/early ladder
Hey Frawst, I am trying to find a way to increase my DPS but I am not great with POB and the tree yet. The two ways you mentioned in the past are a high DPS rare mace or going Impale.
I tried inserting the Impale jewel instead of Shockwave and found the clear to be much worse since we lose the AOE and gain what is essentially a DOT. It was better against single target high life rares/bosses but really felt bad mapping. What are the most impactful Impale items/nodes and what to we sacrifice on our standard tree?
Secondly, I was playing around in POB with switching out Tidebreaker for 800+ pDPS maces and found that we have to get into the 900's before the average damage of rares even gets close to Tidebreaker. Is this a POB illusion or is Tidebreaker really that good? Am I missing something about what type of Rare we would use to replace it?
Thanks!
1. impale is one of the strongest ways to scale our pure phys. we can go dread banner, harpooner and merciless skewer very easily, just change out some 2h dmg nodes for them or any others. then get as close to 100% chance to impale via jewels, charms, etc anyway. then get as many charms as you can afford with impales stack +1. this is basically the most dmg setup
2. tidebreaker is just very very good. to drop it you need to drop all endurance charge nodes/synergy and probably look for a very well rolled piledriver. or... go axes, which have a bit better rage and dmg nodes and tend to roll better (vaal axe are the perfect base, not too fast like despot and not too slow like karui. look at bens video for ideas)
or just get a 7 link corrupted tidebreaker and laugh
