[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
Super fun build, tanky, cheap and makes me lose 5 fps when there's a bunch of mobs :D |

Hey there !
I just wanted to add my version of IS, I played it in delve as a full cold Ice Storm (occultist), it went through couple of iteration (started being fully self cast and crit, no channeling. I took down shaper like it but ... CwC is hands down much better unfortunately), and eventually ended up being this :
gear
skilltree (lvl98) I played it in SSF Delve and the only encounter that I could not do was Uber elder ( I felt like I was lacking dps too much, I tried it couple of times though ), and Chayla ( not enough fragments, I killed it without troubles after the merge ). I'm planning on trying it out with Winter orb linked with everything but conc effect a bit later :), I will post again here after I try it out, who knows even uber elder might be accessible then. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Editado por útlima vez por Fruz#6137 en 1 ene. 2019 2:43:50

I can add what you all forget about GEM Added cold damage i buy 21 20 lvl and put on weapon instead of Hypothermia... And it gives me much more dps and clear speed than hypo.. But i play Scion cold... So i think for scion better add cold damage stone against hypo, hypo just absolutley usles for scion... I dont know why all use it... I know that occultist have skill that cna blust like impulse, but for scion better add cold damage, am i write?
And can someone tell me what better for scion cold for farm and 2 for bosses? what colors and what gems for both versions? I play for farm add cold damage, penetration cold, cwc, wo, cascade, leech i think i need put away cascade and put somthing for damage... I think leech must be in all versions.., cause of syndicate... And have question about GMP for WO for scion cold must have or no? cause i dont use hypotermia... Maybe better change for blue stone controlled destruction... " Nope. Don't know why are you so sure that it gives more dps, but your reasoning is messed up. Lets start from theory - effectiveness from "added elemental damage" for icestorm is 30%. It's really small ammount, in fact, so small that it become almost useless. On the other hand, hypothermia is always active, because if enemy receive damage from us, then it stand on chilled ground, there is no way that it isn't chilled. So, look, for example, if you have 1.5k int, for example, than your icestorm deals 150-450 cold damage. Added cold damage provides 169-254 cold damage initially, and after applying 30% it becomes 50-76. Which is about 20% MORE damage modificator. At the same time, hypothermia provides you 40% MORE damage modificator. I would also say that the more int you get (which you can realistically get far beyond 2k, or something like 2.4k), the more "added cold damage" suck. P.S. You should install path of building. So in future before you say something strange, you can atleast run a test there, see the result that contradict your assumption, and then think carefully "why?". Also, there is no difference between scion and occultist for hypothermia, there only difference for "do you use elemental focus or not". Well, if enemy attacked not by winter orb but by icestorm as well, there is no difference in "elemental focus" either, because chilling ice ground is different entity, and effect is not erased by elemental focus. Controlled destruction is good choice, indeed. Editado por útlima vez por Med1umentor#6844 en 1 ene. 2019 16:54:00

" So why my clear speed and dps with add colds damage much more better when with hypo?))) Just try it)) Not all the time path building is correct... With hypo bosses die so long, with cold damage for a few seconds... And hypo give only chill effect... and 40% damage for chill enemies.... Damage over time dont work whit this build write? cause if it work so it about 80%... But where over time damage where?) I have for now only 1700 int and the add cold damage much more better than hypo, i advice to use it, maybe in 2000 int it would be better hypo but iam not sure, when i test it with 2000 i write here... Yes, PoB is correct. The ingame tooltip doesn't account for the enemy being chilled, hence it shows you more dps with added cold vs hypothermia.

Hey, quick question. I don't know what I'm missing but Immortal Call requires endurance charges to trigger right? Where are we getting endurance charges in this build?
|
|
" IC Does not require endurance charges to trigger. |
|
" You can trigger it with 0 endurance charges. You only get like half a second of it, but it does trigger. |
|
Also if you really want Endurance Charges it's possible to go Malediction ascendancy route instead of Frigid Wake, and get ring with Warlord's Mark on hit. Then you get endurance charges when killing enemies and additional leech from the curse. And while it won't help with bosses that have no adds, it'll help when delving, mapping and against syndicate, since you'll have them reliably up. They will also make immortal call procs much longer.
