[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
just noticed some nice flask synergy with blood rage:
if you have the blood rage effect on you, you will get up to 3 frenzy charges pretty fast - if you use that flask then, you get a 6 second onslaught for free (increases cast speed) which basically increases the cast speed of your icestorm if I am not mistaken. |
|
Does anyone here struggle with the Chimera map too? I cannot survive the "cloud" phase, if I take more than 4 hits to find him I am dead.
I have done everything up to and including red elder with ease but I can't do a Chimera map. The other 3 guardians I did without issue as well. |

" It's not horrible, but it can be tricky. Hitting the center of all those smoke clouds can take some practice. Two things that might help. One, cast a portal in the arena, if you don't find him after searching half the clouds, jump in your portal to recover. Two, Use Vaal Discipline to buy yourself an extra 4-7 seconds to search the clouds. Another think to watch for, try to flash or remove your blood rage gem, before the smoke phase (during the add phase). You don't want blood rage eating into your ES while you search, but it IS useful to have for when you find him. |
|
" I'll play around with it, Cast speed won't effect icestorm, as it's triggered every .35 seconds from Cast while channeling, but it will make you build WO stacks faster. BUT Onslaught is kinda epic for even more move speed. |
|
" Rotgut lover here. I focus a lot on farming delve and betrayal right now, so it's not a particularly DPS intense playstyle and more go fast mode. I also put efficacy in (replaced hypothermia) to keep winter orb up longer. It gives me an extra second on WO. Phasing of course to rush through packs in the dark or that aren't quite shattered yet. Efficacy was more of an accident when I failed to correctly 2G4B color my staff after getting a watcher's eye. Still working on coloring a second staff for max DPS :(. (usually alternate using 1-3 and 5 for movement speed since quicksilvers/onslaught do not stack. What flasks are everyone else running and for what kind of content? Hey guys, just swapped over to the build and loving the tankiness. Only at 5.1k ES so still kinda squishy, followed the tree as close as I could lv 91 end one. Missing only 2 jewel skills atm. Had some issues with Blood rage seeing I would be dying right after a fight due to the charges. I swapped it out for frostbite and liking it so far. Anyone able to look at my gear and give me suggestions on where to go from here in regards to upgrades, capped atm at 84/88/81 with 1.4k INT. Running 4x Fertile Mind and 1x Brute Force Solution with a rare jewel. Not sure if I got the gems right on the staff but from the most part understood Concentrated effect support for bosses, spell cascade for rest. Appreciate any tips

I am eyeing those 3 + life leech rate nodes near Vaal Pact.
I think that will be an amazing way to increase survivability, if we are hitting the cap, which I suspect many players do at endgame. How to check this? |
|
" Probably not worth it. I'm 90% sure that we're quickly hitting the cap and the increased Life Leeched Per second wouldn't do much for us. The #% maximum life per second would be great, but it's nothing compared to Blood Rage/Immortal Call interaction, or even a 30% recovery rate Watcher's Eye mod. Your 3 points are likely better spent elsewhere. |

Hi,
I wanted to thanks you again as I did on the game, I didn't want to bother you but now that I think about it you can't be bothered by questions since your guide is so well done. You explain everything and also the best part is helping at the leveling process. I've always wanted to try new stuff like a character with ES instead of Life, but if I found one that could do the end game, it will require too much skill and dodging and knowledge about bosses. (I'm not saying with this one you can ignore boss mechanics but it helps a lot to survive). Anyway this is by far the best build without any 6L if anyone want to go slowly but surely, also I've seen way slower builds for maps, once you're used to it it's pretty fine. Thanks again. |
