[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything
More fun with crafting, this time pretty simple: crafting high Int gloves with decent ES and the resists you need.
I bought a random pair of Sorcerer Gloves with the fractured 55 Int mod for 50c. That mod cannot be changed no matter what you do with the item. About 100 chaos orbs later: 4 mods, including two T1 ES ones. If I didn't need the specific resists, I could craft 74% ES prefix and get 230 ES gloves. That option is still open if I ever get a real 'gucci' Int ring with serious resists. But for now, between these gloves and my two rings, I've managed to equalize all 3 resists (78% all) and hit 2306 Int with 11730 ES. With the 230 ES gloves option my ES would be about 12100. But with 2300 Int and the DPS it gives, that extra 400 ES is not important at all. Everything explodes already. Updated my items and PoB snapshot in the top post. Nice crafting and thank you for the fractured item info...I've pretty much ignored how it works for the entire league.
My rings are okay...don't think they're gucci tier but they are working well enough: Now for an Emperor's Wit and a few more levels! |

" Hey Kelvynn, I've been trying to get my uncapped resists to over 100% each to deal with map mods (-resist and ele weak etc), is it possible that I don't need to do that? It would certainly save me a lot of cash to not have to hit those resist levels and merely to hit cap, cheers. Timezone: GMT +10 (Australia). CASUAL player but I play whenever I can.

" Extra uncapped resists can't help you against the -max res mod. It's not a big deal except for some extreme cases of bad mod combos. There is no reason to overcap resists for the curses, except maybe in HC. Just make yourself a flask like this one: With 4 uses before needing to recharge it, it's always up, even for bosses. |
|
" Good points, thanks! Yeah I think I already have curse removal on a flask. I guess I tend to go overboard without really stopping to think about why I'm doing it and whether it's really needed - this is all great though, means I can get Int gear without resists for some pieces, cheers! Timezone: GMT +10 (Australia). CASUAL player but I play whenever I can.

hello,
how do you colour the whispering ice staff? i have 6 socket trying to get BBBBGG and used many chromes but to no luck. don't have the white socket either on crafting. can someone please explain the method? Editado por útlima vez por psycico#3560 en 11 abr. 2019 4:06:16

" When you encounter syndicate, try to have Vorici in Research job (with best possible rank). Then when you get access to research safehouse you'll be able to add white sockets to one (or two if Vorici is the leader) items. Get 5 blue 1 green, it's good enough to play and not very hard to get (just replace cold penetration with another blue dps gem), then when you get Vorici in research add white sockets and replace this blue gem with cold penetration Editado por útlima vez por AsbelFar#6192 en 11 abr. 2019 4:46:58

" According to the Vorici Calculator, it takes an average of 161 chromatics to hit 4B2G on this staff. Nothing special. The way probablilities work, your chance to fail in 300 chroms is only 15%, and after 500 it's 4%. So even with extremely bad luck it's still not hard. For the white socket you need to catch Vorici in Research. But I would rather try to get a white socket in the chest first - that lets you swap Herald of Ice for any Purity you want. |

Followed your build while playing the ps4. It's really good, but I had to switch the Whispering Ice staff out for something else. Ice Storm destroys the FPS on console.
Any recommendations for weapons? Also is the build still viable without the staff, or should I change up some passives. Really like the idea of the build and working on getting CI gear. |

Any of the veterans here have any advice for fighting Kurgal? I see him on the map at delve depth 200 but I've never fought him before. Watched a few vids, doesn't look too bad. I'm assuming this build can facetank most of his attacks (save those exploding totems) but wanted to double check so I don't RIP. I'm at Lv 94 with about 2000 INT and 11,500 ES.
Thanks! |
