Oh Rngesus, why dost thou teaseth me?

In trying to craft myself a good piece of armour for this build, I used exactly two Perfect Fossils on a newly acquired iL83 Shaper Vaal Regalia to get the Quality up in preparation for dropping some Dense Fossils to get high ES rolls. The first was a bust at 16% and then I used the second Perfect Fossil...and this is the result:

I don't know whether to be happy or punch my monitor! :-0

Hey guys, i'm trying to make my own chest and hopefully learn to craft a bit better.

I managed to get to here --

39% ES is way too low. 51 Int is very nice but unfortunately the end result would have too little ES.

Alt spam until you get 9-12% Int and one of the top tier ES prefixes: 80%+ ES or 77+ flat ES. Then do the imprint/regal/annul/restore cycle until you either regal something nice (43+ flat Int, or 33%+ ES/stun hybrid mod, or 26+ flat ES/life hybrid mod), or you manage to annul the junk regal mod.

Re: Regalia crafting
As soon as I stopped wasting time on the dumb Synthesis stuff and found 2 exalts, I did this:

Argh, I got T2 %Int and T3 %ES. Should I go on with it? Or worth spending more alts?

T2? If that's the one lower than 9% then it's not the good one. It's semi-ok, but it's whole 4% lower than what you want. I would just continue rolling. If the prefix was T1 it would be worth finishing and either using until you get a better one or selling. But with a T3 prefix it's not worth too much.

That should sell for quite a lot. It's an ES meta, remember? Lots of builds would absolutely LOVE a double-resist 600 ES regalia. Sell it and fund your next crafting attempt.

I decided to throw in the towel at this, I can re-roll for a bit more ES. I'm hoping the phys to cold makes up for the hit to ES somewhat.

i got t3 +ES but got a terrible roll on it and another terrible one on the craft

I'll try to find someone who can 6% to all tomorrow

My regalia project is now complete, I won't bother further since it took way too much currency already. I'm by no means experienced crafter, but if anyone wants to know my process, there it is:

1. The base (ilvl 86 shaped) was purchased for 2 ex 20c
2. Took 5 perfect fossils to reach 30q (20c)
3. Then I've tried my luck at dense fossils, but after 31 miserable fails (7 of which had also prismatic fossils added for a good measure) and wasting ~330c I've decided to go "the regular" way
4. Proceeded to alt spam the base until i got a combination of either T1 INT/INC% INT/Raw ES/ES but after roughly 2000 alterations T2 int and T2 inc % es popped, so I've thought "eh, wasting one regal won't hurt" and was rewarded with + 10% increased int! At this moment i knew i won't be bothering to further roll the affixes in order to reach T1 flats and stick with that one. ( ~2000 alts = ~200c )
4. Slapped multimod craft as the 3rd suffix (2 ex)
5. Crafted + max ES and incr %es+life for my last 2 prefixes ( ~5c? )
6. Divined until i got 12% increased int (4 divines = 40c)

The result:

So, to sum it up I've spent roughly about 1110 chaos worth of currency crafting this, including all the wasted fossils

GJ. I still think your 1110 C estimate is a good number. I bet you can easily invest twice the currency to get that chest.

I got 27% q on the first try and decided it's good enough.

This is my end result, i spent about 300-400 alchs and did not bother with imprint since prices went up for the mats (craicic and annulment are about 75c now), i'd regal it, scour and repeat if i didnt like it. I was fairly lucky rolling t1 increased int since i managed to get it with a decent ES roll 3 times.. (so ~130 alchs per) this was my worst ES roll funny enough.

I decided to go with the 15 % phys -> cold knowing i'd lose some ES, my goal was 530ish but i think the reduced physical damage should make up for it somewhat since I noticed those were getting me in the most trouble.

Thanks to WIntesys for the 6% enchant.

Overall, i'm happy with the result and the biggest investment was 2ex for the multi mod. I think i spent a total of 450c on this. Probably a bit less.

This was a fun experiment in crafting. I also randomly got a resist version with decent rolls that i sold off making back most of what i spent.

My tip is to buy more than 1 base and once you get a decent roll on one, work on the other as well. Maybe i'm just super lucky, but getting t1 int wasn't so bad for me. A little tip is to use augment orb if you get say 12% int by itself or ES, might get lucky and get a decent stat you can upgrade and sell for someone else's build.

This also works as nice insurance, since if you get a t1 int and t3 es roll, you can start on the 2nd or 3rd and see if you can beat it. If you get lucky and then have crap luck you'll see it and can decide better. Given how cheap the bases are, this seems like a decent way to leverage your luck and skip imprint.

after 3000 alts and oh so many regals and scours

this is the best i've gotten so far. Doubt it's even worth working with since it has no flat int :(

But i'm done crafting. Could've geared a max block agony gladiator and farm uber elders for days using that currency.

It was a 50/50 experiment. 50% fun 50% frustrating. Gl with your crafts!
