[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything

wait so SC is working again? Ive got my staff on a 6 socket 5 link, what should the setup be?
I am using Spell Cascade for the first time now, here is my staff:

What exactly does Spell Cascade do? I see the text saying "Supported Area of Effect skills also affect areas in front of and behind the targeted area"- does this just mean that our Icestorm AoE is bigger? Does it actually affect damage, or just a bigger area of effect?

Yes, technically we trigger 3 x Icestorms instead of 1, the difference in clearing is big even if the damage is lowered.
Try a Tier 15 Red Elder in adds spawn phase to see the difference, with Spell Cascade entire room is covered in ice, adds have no chance to hit Shaper .

Exactly what the guide says:

Old version of the build, but it shows what SC does perfectly clear.
So i changed and by god my frames. Is there a way i can get around that without having to change the gems at all? i like the overall area clear but fuck my fps dies so hard.

You might have to lower your graphics settings, SC has always been heavy on the hardware.
Timezone: GMT +10 (Australia). CASUAL player but I play whenever I can.

If your hardware can't handle triple Icestorms, just stick with the pre-SC-fix setup and clear with WO (put Elemental Focus in the 6th unlinked socket instead of SC).
I have to say, I was definitely getting used to not having Spell Cascade, but damn, the clear speed boost is nice, especially for Incursions (and Uber Elder portal phases!).
