I cant recommend this build unfortnately. Double strike was a good alternative build that was easy to switch into for me. Theres almost no change to the tree

For end game, how important is piercing?
I see quite of few ppl use gem, but u can get it from passives/ascendancy or even from new enchant (gloves or/and helm bring 1/2 axtra pierce).
This will lead to extra support gem for SS.
What about chaining while you have piercing for SS?
How good/bad far shot+point blank interact for SS ?
My math:
I assume we have 100% more from skill = 2.0 modifier and 1.3 from far shot, that combined gives us 2.6 at max range.
It still gives somethign while proj travel, not linear ofc. but for simplicity of calc i will get 1.50 and 1.15 bonus modifiers.
with point blank we have from 1.5 to closer targets to 0.5 for logest distance targets. for midrange it will be 1.0
So if you have it all:
close range: 1.5
mid range = 1.725
long range = 2.6*0.5=1.3
Now with 3 proj from skills and 4 from GMP: lets calculate damage, and will vastly vary depends of how fat is model. and how many proj can hit it.
close range = all hits so, 1.5 *7 =10.5
mid range 2 or 3 at max will hit same target so 3.45-5.175. so lets say 4.5
at max range you get like 1 proj so it remain 1.3
Even wiout point blank max range will MEH for SS.
and 1 more question about impale/banners, assuming we 1-2 shot regular monsters/blues its irrelevant.
for boss fights, that war banner aura for 20% increase phys damage taken so 1.2 more modifier can be better than adrenaline for 2.5 sec ( and another button to press)
dread banner's impale bonus, any math there?
aura stacks with enfeeble debuff on enemies? if so 47 + 23 = 70% reduced accuracy, very efficient way!
does banner aura has curse reductiion effect on bosses/shaper/elder?

if you want pierce, just use blasphemy proj weakness. if u want chain, then u cant have pierce/fork. If u want pierce/fork, use vulnerability instead of proj weakness.
I mean the math is pretty obvious that point blank is the best route vs bosses.

Sorry if I cant get to all the questions. I'm getting too many questions here, on youtube, and my other guides. A bit overwhelmed. I'll try to answer as many as i can. If at all possible, please help each other out. Thanks for understanding.

Once I get some solid playtime to get into maps I can hopefully work some stuff out.
The distance scaling/shotgun interaction is a horrible anti synergy though.
Best we can hope for is far shot and the scaling offsetting the point blank penalty for clearing, which feels like a waste of a bunch of points.
I might end up having to drop gathering winds to get chaining along with a decent aoe, which is pretty horrible.
i'm determined to get something working though!
Not sure about the beltimber option at the moment. Could maybe drop GMP with them, but would probably have to sub in increased crit strikes to make up for the crit (Might be ok with an elder chest). So would lose the -26% damage, but would be less damage and slower than a good foil.
Maybe the budget option when they get cheap.
If the way the projeciles get added mean it means a lot more shotgunning though, might be worth going beltimbers + gmp though. Dying sun will help a lot too.

yup. i agree with everything u said.
beltimber price dropped by more than half. its like 20c now. It seems like it'll be as cheap as it has been in past leagues.
Or maybe people havent realized that the +2 proj works with spells too.... I was going to try it for COC lancing ice spear lol
btw, u lose -26% damage but u also get to use another support gem, so thats huge. Except there arent many great supports... slow proj/vicious proj are only like 30% more dps. damage on full life will be necessary. u have to figure out how to be on full life with blood rage on.

If a projectile of shattering steel hits a target then it shatter, does the shattered cone damage also hits the target too?

As I said, without decent crit elsewhere, the other support might have to be inc crit strikes, which isn't terrible, but normally feels like a waste these days!
Elder chest maybe, but I really wanted to try the buffed daresso's defiance.
Hadn't actually realised how low the more multiplier on slower projectiles was. Chance to bleed might well be a better link if nothing else. Or crit damage.
Vicious proj has the less attack speed, might need to PoB that to see how it works out damage wise.
I'm worried damage on full life might just be tooltip damage if we can't sustain when we need it. You can craft life regen onto flasks though which would help.

u can get regen on the elder chest. or, u can craft regen on amulets too this league. Ideally, u get some endurance charge sustain rather than regen. End charge mitigates blood rage

Do you think the 2 extra projectile from Beltimber is better than the 2 rare foil where we can have crit chance and % spell dmg.
