I've experimented with Solar Guards, Frost Sentinels, and Fire-raisers in T15 with this build and I can honestly say I prefer Fire-raisers over the other two, hands down.
I'm working with a 6l now, and I think perhaps if I didn't have Unending Hunger, Frost Sentinels would be more competitive, but as my gear is right now they can't hold a candle to the clear speed of Fire-raisers.
what gems do you use with fire raisers?
This is my current setup for Fire-raiser spectres.
In 3.8, what is the best type of Spectre to choose ? And where we can find them ?
Thx
In the FAQs section of the 3.8 update, he has a list of spectres to use, but to summarize:
Frost Sentinels (a8 Lunaris Temple)
Goatman Fire-Raiser (a6 Prisoner's Gate)
Solar Guard (a8 Solaris Temple)
Host Chieftain (a6 Riverways, power charges)
Carnage Chieftain (a2 Old Fields, frenzy charges)
People in-game are also going crazy over Slave Drivers, found in a5 Control Blocks. By using them, you can drop GMP (as they're melee) and save yourself the burden of 138 dex.

Worth noting, though, is that it's going to negatively impact your clear speed and also require you to find another way to proc EE. Slave Drivers deal lightning damage and are intended for bossing, not map clear. They're not really recommended for this build because we have Skeletons for bossing.
At least, that's what Herc told me when I asked a few pages back.
Utility wise I would also mention Ruin Hellions. Dog like monsters that can be Desecrated in the Grain Gate zone (Act 7 I think).
They use Rallying Cry which gives a damage and does a AoE taunt. Really useful.
Their Inspiring Cry doesn't scale by monster count like player warcries. It just gives 10% increased damage. What's notable, though, is the massive 30% reduced damage on other targets from its 8 second taunt.
(I only saw the post saying it was not better than Belly, but with 3.8 and your hybrid build, maybe it's better now ?)
Maybe we can change "Mistress of sacrifice" ascendency for something else too ?
Can anyone answer me ?

Queen's Hunger ?
My answer hasn't changed since the FAQ. Randomness means you cannot build around any one thing.
We build around Spirit Offering by taking ES nodes. Other builds take block nodes to build around Bone Offering. And a build that wants Flesh Offering, well, wants Flesh Offering up for DPS, cast speed, and mobility.
It's only good as an extra bonus, where you don't care about offerings in particular, or a build that absolutely cannot squeeze offerings in without it.

I don't think it's worth it.
For starters, it triggers a random offering, and the only one we actually want is Spirit Offering.
The veiled mods will be garbage, more likely than not, but let's assume they're good minion mods or defensive ones, for argument's sake.
The only really noteworthy ascendency we could take other than Mistress of Sacrifice would be Commander of Darkness, which isn't bad. But we have to ask ourselves what's more important, Commander of Darkness or a really solid chestpiece?
PROS:
+ We can save sockets on our CWDT setup by not having to use Desecrate and Spirit Offering
+ We can spec out of Mistress of Sacrifice and into Commander of Darkness, for more minion damage and slightly easier resist capping.
CONS:
- We have a mediocre chestpiece, defensively.
- There's a 66% chance we get an Offering that doesn't actually help us much.
- We only get an offering every 5 seconds, as opposed to potentially several times per second, further limiting the intended utility of having a defensive offering.
Ultimately, you're sacrificing a ton of defenses for some very mild offensive bonuses. I don't think it's worth it, but if you'd really like to be a glass cannon, it's an easy way to save two ascendency points.
After experimenting with the lightning conversion build for a little bit, I have to say that it's insanely strong and has the potential to be one of the highest dps minion builds this patch.

That is really interesting and I might give that a try. First, why KB? Second, why Aggressive Bastion?
"

Holy bastion requires an "attack" to proc which KB is but spells like frost nova are not. By having cold & fire damage on a jewel, I can proc EE off of KB. It also splashes and fires fast, which makes cursing enemies feel smooth.
Aggressive bastion was supposed to be the cheapest defensive anointment I could find. I did not want to shell out 1 ex on a golden oil (which pretty much everything good requires). Ideally, I'd go with one of the 10% max life nodes. However, I forgot that I no longer "kill" things now I got rid of the poison setup so it's a now a fairly useless announcement.

You don't need both. In your example, use Fire OR Cold, just one. Using both in the same hit simply gives monsters resistance to both, no benefit to you.

I finally dropped my unending hunger jewel, its added to socket under witch start, but really i cant see any improvement.. cant see any additional buff either?
Any ideas what can be wrong?

I have been considering this as well. One thought I had was if Phantasms (or zombies) are killing everything they would not stack a lot. And I have the impression Phantasms projectiles are quicker?
You might want to give a try to remove phantasms and do a blight to see if you can see them stack. I'll anyway not be investing another ex to get a new one. I already splurged on Grip of the council because I did not want to wait any longer :)

Spectres do not have to get the kill. However, they must be NEAR any kills, like ~40-60 units, to absorb the souls.

I end each day by reading up on your latest post and every day I learned something new. Amazing. Thank You.
To be more specific:
"Raised Spectres have a 50% chance to gain Soul Eater for 30 seconds on Kill"
At least 1 kill = Soul Eater buff. Once the Spectre has the Soul Eater buff, it no longer matters whether they score any more kills. Soul Eater is already working for the next 30 seconds, which absorbs souls from any nearby kills (~40-60 radius) regardless of what dealt the killing blow.
This is why we really only ever need one Unending Hunger.

At first, thanks for this really awesome Guide! It´s a bit spread out, but at least one of the most informative! :)
Secondly a small question:
What are your thougts of 4 white socketed Triad Grip over Grip of the Council?
"
4 white socketed Triad Grip
Withering Touch Support on Zombies would give up to 90% more damage on a boss, so that's nice. Aside from Despair and Occultist, it's hard to lower chaos resistance, so you'd want an Animated Guardian with items that do so (e.g. Crown of the Tyrant or fossil-crafted helm).
It'll be hard to get, though. Vorici only does up to 3 white sockets. You'd have to rely on the Altar of Corruption in the Temple of Atzoatl to get 4 white sockets.
Thanks for the guide and all the info Hercanic! Just one other question. How does the "on kill" trigger work for something like Victario's Charity? Since I started using KB, my minions no longer seem to gain on kill effects. However, when I was using Ball Lightning, I wasn't technically killing any of the enemies either. Would I have to link a DoT or something to make use of it here?
