There are 4 skill-tree templates - 3 for leveling and the complete tree.

SKILL GEMS

Single Target:

- Dual Strike, Multistrike, Melee Physical Damage, Elemental Damage with Attacks, Elemental Focus, (5-link) & Ruthless (6-link).

Info
Until you get a Physical to lightning conversion Watcher's Eye, I suggest using the support gem "Physical to Lightning" instead of Ruthless. If you only have a 5-link, use it instead of Elemental Focus.

Area Clear:

- Frost Blades, Ancestral Call, Multistrike & Elemental Damage with Attacks.

Info
Once you get properly into mapping start looking for a pair of Elder gloves with implicit Faster Attacks and Chance to Bleed - for an example refer to my gear, linked further down below

Mobility:

- Whirling Blades, Faster Attacks, Fortify & Blood Magic.

Utility buffs:

- Frost Bomb, Ancestral Protector & Blood Rage.

Auras & Heralds:

- Hatred, Herald of Ice, Herald of Ash & Enlighten (lvl 3).

Info
Enlighten level 3 will allow you to use all 3 skills while ensuring you still have enough mana to use your other skills. Until you can afford a level 3 Enlighten I suggest taking leaving out Herald of Ice or Ash depending on your own preference.

CWDT Setup:

- CWDT (lvl 9), Frostbite (lvl 12) & Summon Stone Golem (lvl 11).

Info
To ensure CWDT automatically procs reliably you need to keep the gem levels in this setup precisely as stated above.
If you accidentally over-level a gem you can sell it to the vendor together with an orb of scouring to de-level it by 1 level. Or sell it together with an orb of regret to return it to level

Weapon Swap - Adrenaline Proc:

- Blashphemy, Vulnerability & Blood Magic

Info
For Adrenaline (massive damage, attack speed and defensive buff for 20 seconds) to proc you need to reach "low life" (35% HP). To force this we swap to our secondary weapon setup and activate vulnerability - since it is linked to blood magic it will take you to low life and proc Adrenaline. After this swap back to your primary weapon setup - this shouldn't take longer than 1-2 seconds to do.

Alternatively you can use Righteous fire in the weapon swap, activate it and swap back. The degen will persist through the weapon swap and once you reach low life Adrenaline will automatically deactivate the degen and apply its buffs.

Default Weapon Swap hotkey: "x".

- Conqueror --> Worthy Foe --> Unstoppable Hero --> First to Strike, Last to Fall.

Leveling skill-tree 1:

Leveling skill-tree 2:

Leveling skill-tree 3:

Finished skill-tree at level 92 and 115 points:

Pantheon Powers:

- Major Pantheon choice: Soul of Lunaris for Mapping & Soul of Solaris for bossing.

- Minor Pantheon choice: Soul of Shakari (poison immunity) or whatever other choice you prefer.

LEVELING ADVICE

Weapons: Any one-handed rare or unique melee weapon can be used while leveling and until you get your Touch of Anguish claws. Until then make sure to progressively upgrade your weapons to have decently high physical damage relative to the level of the content you are facing. You should at all times be dual wielding!

Once you unlock the Soul Raker passive in the skill-tree, I suggest to only use claws from there on. Since you get mana and life leech from Soul Raker you can now also spec out of the life and mana leech nodes near the duelist start and spend those 2 points elsewhere.[/u].

If you at any point need more intelligence to level your gems then simply pick up the 30+ notables in the skill-tree and/or search the vendors for a Lapis Amulet as a temporary fix.

Progression Tips:

1. Level 1-3: Use Cleave, linked with Chance to Bleed.

2. Level 4+: Start using Frost Blades for clearing and Dual Strike for single target.

Info
For Frost Blades to work properly make sure to link it to Ancestral Call. From here add in the suggested skill-gems mentioned earlier.

Also it's worth understanding that the weapon range (how close you need to be in order to reach your target) increases as the Frost Blade gem level up. This means it might not feel too good in the beginning, but it picks up as you progress.

3. Level 38: Add Multistrike to your Dual Strike AND Frost Blades setup.

Info
Once you have completed "The Eternal Nightmare" quest in Act 4 choose Multistrike as quest reward and purchase an additional one from Petarus and Vanja (NPC vendor).
Try to get both the DS and the FB setups 4-linked if you haven't already. This will make both skills feel significantly better.

4. Level 50-60+: try to get yourself a cheap 5-linked armor for your Dual Strike setup. Re-evaluate your gems - add in the ones you can from the guide and throw away old gems that are no longer needed.

Info
By completing Lily's quest in Act 6 she can give you access to all skill-gems (with few exceptions) the game has to offer. Simply browse her "store" to find them.

5. Level 68+: Get 2x Touch of Anguish Claws

6. Level 75+: Get a pair of Elder Gloves with the implicit Faster Attacks and Chance to Bleed + whatever other beneficial stats you can use. Add your Frost Blades setup to these for a pseudo 6-link.

Bandit Quest:

- Kill them all for +2 skill-points.

CHARACTER PROGRESSION GUIDELINES

Spoiler
Kitava, Act 5:

- 900+ Life.
- 35%+ to all elemental resistances
- Normal lab complete.

Arakali, Act 7:

- 1600+ Life.
- 40%+ to all elemental resistances.
- 4-linked Frost Blades and Dual Strike.

Kitava & Maps, Act 10:

- 3200+ Life.
- 75%+ to all elemental resistances.
- Cruel and Merciless lab complete.
- 5-linked+ Dual Strike.

Uber Lab (for the points, not for farming purposes):
- Level 78+
- 4500+ Life.
- 75%+ to all elemental resistances.
- 5-linked+ Dual Strike.
- Make sure to disable Essences, Conduits, Gargoyles and Charge Disrupter buffs.

The Shaper/Red Elder:

- 5200+ Life.
- 75%+ to all elemental resistances
- All 8 Ascendancy points.
- 6-link DualStrike.
- Pseudo 6-link Frost Blades (Elder Gloves)
- The Shaper/Red Elder fights are very mechanical fights. Don't expect to kill him in your first try. It takes practice.

Note: these are all per definition "guidelines" try and aim for these numbers, but don't get discouraged if you are a bit off.

GEARING

What to look for on your rare items and jewels:

Main priority stats:

- Life
- Elemental Resistances
- Evasion

Info
You should have a MINIMUM of 70+ life on ALL your rare gear where it is possible. Without decent life rolls on your gear the passives will have nothing to scale and you will end up with a low life pool.
Also, make sure you reach a minimum of 75% to all elemental resistances (softcap) before you start mapping.

Secondary priority stats:
- Flat physical damage to attacks
- Attack speed
- Elemental damage with attack skills

Note: these affixes are only found on belts, rings, amulets or gloves.

Rare jewel stats:

- Life
- Attack Speed
- Critical Strike Multiplier

Flasks:

- 1x Seething Divine Life Flasks of Staunching
- 1x Atziri's Promise
- 1x Ample Diamond Flask of Warding
- 1x Lion's Roar
- 1x Surgeon's Silver Flask of Heat

Bravo Lifting, great guide, so much helpful info.
Thanks for putting back into the community!
Hey Lifting, i'm thinking about playing this since it looks fun af! BUT, i really hate the whole adrenaline-node-thing on champion, do you think taking either permafortify or the other node that gives flat dmg increase is fine also?
Nice build!! Like it a lot. But I have a question. Since this build is based on cold damage output (I suppose?), why would I need herald of ash skill gem?
