[3.2] Elemental Crit Cyclone Raider - Fast, fun, deadly! - Ready for Bestiary league

how much funding is required to easily do endgame boss (guardianselder/shaper/uber atziri with this build?!) also with the easy abyss jewel going away, how do you think this build will do ?

1. I wrote the guide in Harbinger, so there were no Abyss jewels and I used Belt of the Deceiver for Intimidate instead of Tombfist. This build, like any flat ele stacking attack build, was better in Abyss than in most previous leagues, but that does not mean it is nerfed by Abyss jewels becoming harder to acquire. My own character has no abyss league gear at all, the showcase video is recorded with the gear I currently have equipped apart from headhunter and acuity; in those slots I had rare gloves and Belt of the Deceiver.

The Raider ascendancy changes revealed today will nerf the movement speed slightly, and we haven't seen the patch notes yet so there might be some unfavorable changes incoming, I can't know at this point.

2. "Easily" doing endgame bosses is relative, so I can't really answer this question directly. You can probably kill Shaper with a 5-link and a shit foil if you know how to play the mechanics properly. If you want to define a "decent gear" threshold, beyond which you'll only be able to get expensive upgrades, it would include something like:

Lycosidae - around 3-4 ex for most of Abyss league I think, it's down to 1.5ex now

6l Bronn's - between 5-8 ex depending on exalt prices

Rings and amulet - maybe 20-40c each for nice rolls on normal bases like two-stone so 60-120c total

Foil - you can get decent foils for around 30-50c but the good ones are at least 1-2ex. I paid 4 ex in the middle of harbinger league for the foil my character still has equipped.

Jewels - 10-20c each for jewels that are not total shit, so around 60c probably depending on how many you need for your chosen passive tree

Flasks - you don't need any expensive flasks anymore. If you want to buy pre-rolled flasks the most expensive one is probably quicksilver of adrenaline, that usually goes for around 5-10c iirc.

That's about it for items that cost any real amount of currency, apart from maybe Tombfist if you want them but there's no way to know how expensive they're gonna be next league. You can use Belt of the Deceiver for the same effect anyway.

Total cost of the above: 9-13 ex + 120-200c.

This is just a very rough estimate cobbled together from my own experience, prices might be wildly different next league if the meta changes substantially or if drop rates get altered again. Prices can also change drastically from the first few weeks of the league into the middle period.

And then there's the luck factor; you might find a lycosidae yourself and 6-link a Bronn's in under 100 fusings or something. On top of that is the crafting factor; if you know how to craft your own rares you can lower the expected price substantially. And then there's also the new Bestiary league crafting stuff to consider. Good rares might just become dirt cheap if the crafting system is easy to get good results from.

I dont like the movement speed nerfs, -12% :(

Maybe go now for Onslaught instead of phasing?

My recommendation will stay Avatar of the Veil over Avatar of the Chase, the dodge and elemental ailment immunity is too good. The onslaught branch is worth considering for phys builds but for flat ele stacking I think the phasing branch is still the way to go.
When we get more information on the new league, would you be willing to update this with an onslaught version instead of frenzy? Or would we just use the pathfinder, skill tree?

I will revise everything when patch notes hit and then probably again once the league has started and we've seen all the new uniques and stuff. If onslaught branch raider or pathfinder end up being better choices than they have been previously I'll add some more notes on those choices. For now I still think avatar of the veil is the best choice, the only difference so far is -12% ms, which is around a 5% relative reduction. It shouldn't be very significant.
Hey, I'm curious if you think equipping a Prismatic eclipse with 3 white sockets for mapping could be a good idea. Or do you think the lack of shield charge would basically make you loose the speed you get by not having to deviate from the main path (because you'd have a lot more aoe)?

I'm basically hesitating between this build and a cyclone ele build that's more focused on AoE. Both have their advantages but

edit: i rebuilt this build in standard real quick, i already had some good gear that worked with it from an old ele crit ST raider, and turns out, with +2 range on weapon, and daresso's salute, the aoe is decent enough for me. Before that, it was really too small...

Seems like you already figured out a solution for yourself but just to answer your question about Prismatic Eclipse, the two main issues with that for me are:

1. Loss of shield charge as you already mentioned reduces movement speed considerably

2. Loss of lycosidae and addition of a low base crit second weapon reduces crit chance, chance to hit and DPS considerably. The crit and hit chance could be somewhat mitigated by getting accuracy on gear, but that would make the entire character much more expensive.

That being said, I haven't tested it myself so maybe it would feel nice to play for mapping regardless of the decreased damage output.

Another solution would be to lose the weapon instead of lycosidae... The reason I'm asking is that I've seen 2 cyclone builds that go for AoE:

and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=108&v=DLZev6zUggY

Granted these 2 videos are on maps with tight corridors, but there are others, and the aoe really seems to feel good in more open maps. Obviously this build here is way better for single target.

I made a spreadsheet comparing AoE, DPS and Crit chance of a few different setups:

To me the compromise you came up with looks like the most well-rounded choice, but I might be missing some other good combinations.

I'm using this PoB to generate numbers for comparison, it's the same PoB that I normally use to gearcheck and stuff except I equipped my ~4ex Blood Song rather than the placeholder ~1-2ex foil I usually compare with. I'm guessing a 3W prismatic should cost about 3-4 ex or less in temp leagues (?).

Since PoB doesn't seem to take the white sockets into account on its own and I don't know of a way to edit weapon range manually on the weapon itself, I used this jewel to simulate the added range of 3W prismatic:

Thx for these numbers, that was interesting.
