Serious question about PoB DPS calculation.

abyss jewel with "adds Lightning Damage to CLAW Attacks" doesn't increase DPS in PoB. Only "adds Lightning Damage to Attacks"(without claw) increase POB's DPS.

I found out this when my +71 lightning to claw attacks jewel didn't increase any DPS but my +64 lightning to attack gives me 5% more DPS.


I don't know if this is PoB's problem or game mechanics.


And I'm pretty sure I'm using claw. thank you.

Is this an OK weapon with physical to lightning gem? Bought it for 35c.

Read the main article:

- Speed - check
- Crit - check

Both main criterias hit.
- Extra element damage - great addon
- Extra crit damage - great addon
- Extra phys damage - can't hurt

I think it will be difficult / very very expensive to find something notably better.
Phys to lightning gem I don't think so - use path of building with your equip / skilltree. When you use magma strike most is converted for free.

Oh I mean the jewel :). Sounds good. "Love" that I still feel like a complete noob after half a year playing

I'm kinda new on the game, never paid attention to end game or gearing and now im trying to learn and improve.
Can i get some help with my gear?
I've already killed Shaper with this gear. I feel that I can upgrade a lot but I dont know where to start.

I have about 5ex and 900c. I've seen some upgrage claws for 8ex+ but I dont know if I should spend almost all my currency on a weapon.

Not really qualified but go get the shield recommended for this build, 2 abyss socket tombfist, probably get a better belt by using a stygian vise, make sure all your jewels have 3 attacks + life if possible.

Ammy is not good and probably try to get a 2 abyss socket Tombfist glove. Rest looks pretty good, always best to leave chars on public so we can see your tree and jewels.

Im playing this build in SSF Abbys with VP claw version. Got already some problems with survi on maps +7. DPS is great, but sometimes i feel like my dodge rly doesnt't work well. I know i got low gear, but now got like 17% to dodge from evasion. On guide defence stats have 25$ evade. It's only 8% more. My life is 3.4k now. Maybe this is the problem?

Stygian Vise with about the same stats as Leather Belt(+ 1 abyss jewel),2-slot Tombfist,Amulet(Ele dmg. + crit,Ele. dmg + crit + multi with enough currency),boots enchant,helm enchant,60%+ WED opal rings(Don't saw the added ele. dmg it's only good as bonus,the 60-67% WED will give you way more boost than 10-20 flat ele on ring,also don't sacrifice too much for crit chance,should aim for ~40-45% crit chance in h/o without diamond rings bases)
