Is Tukohamas Fortress worth it?
I will tackle this build today and I am trying to find the best Tree/Gear for Softcore.
Tukohamas seems pretty strong, effectively doubling your dps, but is it really worth investing around 14 points to get the aegis?
Would be thankful if somebody can share their min/max experience with this build.
Another problem is of course the fact that you can't use MoM, even though I am using this build in softcore I am not sure if skipping out on one the core defenses of the build is smart.

>> Another problem is of course the fact that you can't use MoM,
Aegis transfers sheild benefits to your minions - and thus, block is going to be less effective as a defensive mechanism. It's got nothing to do with MOM.

TF is really nice for killing end game bosses. Aegis is 6 points away going via the pretty worthless ES nodes.

If you're trying to level though, I'd recommend Rathpith instead and not speccing into Aegis. I found that w/o high shield block, survivability is noticeably reduced.

Most vids I've seen of this build killing shaper have been without tukohamas and they seem pretty fast.
I understand that survival is way harder with the fortress, the point is just if the fortress is really worth it considering you lose this much defense and it takes some points to get there (you also have to spec out of MoM and the nodes behind it if you want to be serious).
Is the killing speed significantly higher to the point where it's no contest?

From what I experience with my non-tukohama build, shaper/guardians melt fast enough if the totems focus-fire on them and it's the key issue with speed in this build, i.e. where the totems are placed, how long it takes for all totems to focus fire on the boss. So I think adding more totems will not dramatically reduce the killing time if the bosses move around too much.

Depending on your build you'll only need 6 or 8, if you go the long way around to not give points to the 3 ES nodes to make a shorter bridge, point to get Necromantic aegis, you also cn still use MoM, the moment you get aegis you won't have the blood magic anymore, since, for all intents and purposes, you don't have a shield equipped anymore. I have a bone offering +9 enchant so with a 20 block rolled rumi and tempest shield on cwdt I can still hit 73/75 block even with Necromantic aegis during flask effect. So overall if you are playing carefully all you lose is about 4 nodes of hp( which isn't a small issue btw if your hp isn't high already) and a shield slot

The issue with this however is that you odn't actually need that shield, it only helps a bit if you're farming guard, ans, uber atziri or shaper where killing faster let's you ignore lots of mechanics.
imho, it's not worth giving up a huge chunk of our survivability to double the number of totems.
if you already got a tukohama's fortress it's still a great damage boost, but in some very rippy map mods (t15 or t16 like guardians or vaal temple) all you have to do is to stay alive while your spectres take care of the bosses, they burn down the boss pretty fast anyway assuming you have a 6 link with leveled gems and some minion damage boost (on gloves, or amulet, jewels, helm, etc.) and those upgrades are the most important investments to do before thinking about a tukohama's fortress which is crazy expensive.
I found out that The Anticipation (https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/The_Anticipation) is a nice option to have if you can cap your resistances or have a shield with resistances to swap for elemental weakness maps, and can be upgraded to The Surrender (even if I don't know if do we risk physical reflect from reckoning skill in phys reflect maps?) it gives block, armour, life and intimidate on block makes enemies to take 10% increased damage taken from all sources :)

in my case if I'm not using fortress I can't seem to give up rathpit globe, this way I'm free to use bisco's collar, which I can't seem to remove from any build once I play a day with it on, or shaper's seed for extra regen for your minions in lab and stuff, that way they can eat as many spikes as you want to the face and walk it off ^^, or even a bloodgrip for 150+ life regen, some HP and doubled life return from life flask along with bleed extra damage removal.

yes rathpith globe fits very well if you want to use bisco's collar, or a bloodgrip amulet with minion damage

never thought about shaper's seed but you're right it's great for lab runs especially against the chop-up traps, for now I'm using a skullhead helm

which offers good survivability to minions, plus convocation to get them out of traps
Does +40 minion damage affects the totem damage? Also is haste worth running? Im switching from solar guards and i generally felt that haste is not as good as it is on the tukohamas

I've been lucky enough to buy this bad boy
that with seed covers their survival issues, if I'd then still encounter problems I could use essence worm with vitality, I also like to keep the %1.6 life regen on bloodgrip, tho that is mostly because I have a thing for regen in many games I play

yes minion damage affects all the damage coming from our minions, their attacks and spells.
this build makes a large use of mind over matter, so the only aura worth using is clarity for the extra elemental resistances from commander of darkness ascendancy and mana regeneration.
you may try to run haste in an essence worm (instead of clarity) but I don't think it's a big deal as the spectres always deal huge damage and we need mana for our survivability.

very nice helmet, I prefer to have more % minion damage on helm/amulet/gloves and some jewels because I play on softcore and I can take the risk of dying sometimes ^^ (it happens very very rarely)

I've been running the build for a day now and I have to say after the initial "meh" effect I am pretty impressed.
Very high dps with minimal investment. Got a few problems though that I hope somebody can answer:

Is there a difference in looks between the vanguard and the other tukohama guys that place no totems? I don't mean the bowmen, sometimes when I get some spectres from the crematorium they just won't place totems no matter what. Is this a different mobtype? Getting them from the coast at first obviously.
EDIT: Seams like the totem guys have no umbrella around the neck.

Is there a good way to rez the right corpse? When I use Spell Echo to get more corpses they tend to pile up and if I rez the wrong one I have to get 4 new spectres.

Is there a "best" 6 link setup? Checked the profiles of the people posting in this thread and it seams everyone is using different gems. I know it's impossible to check on PoB but does anybody have experience?

The guide gives the advice to disable multithreading to stop the crashes. It reduces the crashes, still leaves me with incredible FPS drops after i disable it and I still get kicked out of the game into the main menu from time to time. And if you can imagine with this build it's rather annoying, anything I can do?

Any help would be appreciated
