[3.x - Discontinued for now] Burning Spectres - Torch the Atlas - HC Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri

So reading through this thread I see varying reports on whether efficacy and swift affliction actually work for wickermen, do we have a definitive answer yet?

I'm thinking of having two vis mortis chests in the near future. Between the two I'd like to be able to run wickermen, vanguards and solar guards.
What kind of colors would you recommend for these two chests?

Thinking
Vis Mortis 1 for mainly wickers: B-B-B-R-B-B (spectre + min dmg + ele focus + burning + min tot ele res + chance to ignite or inc aoe)

Vis Mortis 2 for mainly vanguards or solar guards: B-B-B-R-B-G (spectre + min dmg + ele focus + burning/fire pen + min tot ele res/spell echo + swift affliction/GMP)

Although I suppose if swift affliction really works with wickermen, which I'm not certain of due to it basically being RF, then I could probably just stick with the second vis mortis that has 4 blues, 1 red and 1 green and make it work for all three spectres? ^

Lastly, am I understanding the necronomicon right in that spectres now have a base 70% all res and 20% chaos res? 40/20 default and +30 from the gem itself? In that case the "minion and totem ele res" gem really doesn't seem that amazing, especially if you run purity of elements or something.

Some advice is welcome, thanks!

I'm very happy with this build, done all content with it.
I've completed all the challenges, did Vaal Temple and the guardians endgame grind, Shaper and Uber Atziri. It's a decent uber lab farmer, use convocation a lot to ensure that your minions won't get blocked behind some walls or traps; you may even kill a full buffed Izaro bursting him in a matter of seconds when he's coming up, I've done most of my runs with full keys.
To be honest, I don't think that bothering with an Animate Guardian is really necessary once you have a 6-link chest with leveled gems. I've made some videos vs the guardians and the shaper; unless the bosses have % more monster life, extra rippy mods which require to play carefully or you're trying to carry another person in party, the fight will last one minute or less; in my videos, the hydra bossfight lasts a bit more than 30 seconds, and the third phase from the shaper lasts like 1 minute.
Animate guardian is a nice boost and it's fun to play for sure, but if you're having hard times trying to keep him alive during though bossfights, it's not worth imho. He may still help a lot while carrying a party of two or more people though :)

I apologize for the "streaming" quality of the videos (720p), I'll re-record them with a higher quality when I have time :)

I found the overgrown ruin bosses with their chaos damage and immortal totems to be extremely annoying. They cannot stand a chance against my spectres but their numerous trashes and totems lure aggro from my spectres, which make the fight messy and I often rip before my spectres can destroy them. Chaos damage also degen my spectres and AG significantly.

Not sure what the best strategy other than to run around.
I am a little confused when it comes to gems right now because the guide shows multiple gear options but they have different color sockets/ gem setups? Anyway OP can clarify gear and gem setups?
Thank you for the guide. What other damage stats work with our spectres on jewels? Is it only minion damage? Or does burning damage, damage over time works, etc.

Also Spirit Eater or Commander of Darkness Ascendancy? What are most people going for?

With regard to Efficacy and Swift Affliction working with Wikerman, I doubt that they do. Exelice has performed careful testing of these gems showing that (with the exception of quality bonus) they do not benefit Wikerman; his testing has not been rebutted.

With regard to specialized chests I suppose you could go this route. But this build already plows through all content on a 5-link so unless you're looking for best possible damage this seems to be massive overkill.

Finally, the Neconomicon information is incorrect/confusing as pointed out in this post.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I guess it is better to just look at poedb and check the merciless res stats of the individual spectres then, so wickers have 20 allres.

Would you say that the best all around vis mortis links for wickermen/tukohama are spectre + minion dmg + ele focus + burning + minion totem ele res + swift affliction (for tukohama mainly if it doesn't affect wicker)?
I run 3 wicker 1 tukohama for mapping right now, guess for dedicated bossing I'd do 1 wicker 3 tukohama

Chance to Ignite (you won't be able to ignite but "more damage" still applies) is better than MaTER but you'll need to address minion resists (not hard).

That said, I've been mostly a sheep for this build, meekly following what others have done :-). I haven't looked at all the gems and then done tests to see what's best, but the links outlined above will work well.
Loving this build so far, levelling smoothly on a 5-Link vis mortis.

Just to clarify, which curse is the most efficient for this build? I see some people using temp chains, while I have also seen some people using vulnerability or flammability.

Thanks!

I feel it depends on who you are fighting.

For Chimera,Minotaur and uber Atziri I will go enfeeble and temp chains.

Uber Atziri i remove temp chains for culling strike on 3rd phase.

I remove flesh offering for vaal lighting trap too.

If you are thinking of using vulnerability or flammability means its not really hard content lol

I would think vulnerability for winkermans but i go flammablilty for solar guards.
