Newbie here...how do i link the zombies? it seems zombies are worth summoning now...thanks

It is not worth to spend gem sockets for zombies

Care to explain why and offer alternatives?

Because zombies deal not that much damage to use them. At least if you play with exactly this build.
If you use your custom build that is based on this and zombies are playable in your variation - it is you who should explain how you make zombies worth something

kervie17 said, that "it seems zombies are worth summoning now"
But why does he decide so? Nobody knows.

I have actually been using zombies extensively with this build and think it supplements it very well. I add them to empower/mininon life AG in a 4l. Using them only adds a single gem to the setup and they are generally tanky during high tier mapping (t12-t16).

During hard bossfights all the zombies just usually fall over and die. Resummoning up to 8 zombies during a bossfight is always a bad idea and will usually kill you so just resummon them after the fight or during waiting phases of the fight.
By using them you get very convenient meathshields and by adding a taunt on hit/blind on hit jewel in your build they add better survivability to mapping then the curse does which uses 3 gem slots. Remember they buffed them to never miss their slam so accuracy on getting those hits is no longer a issue.

Don't use zombies for damage, if you do you are misunderstanding their awesome potential. We don't have the spare gem slots in our gear to make it viable anyway. I tried using jewels and ascendancies points but the results where not worth the investment. And it's not like we need more damage on this build then we already have.

I've used zombies and spell totem + skeletons (I have 9% taunt chance) before I get some HP and resists, but that was just like first 2-3 days of mapping (I play not that much hours per day). I have no problems with tanking on t14-15 now. I've tried to play with them again in different ways, but they are really not worth it
For TV the guide lists Minion/Totem elemental resist gem. I don't have a problem at all with spectre HP/survivability. Is there another gem you would recommend for DPS, or is the elemental damage that gem provides better than other options

Chance to ignite. But realy, as i think this is combo setup for 5 l (without totem and minion resisances). And for highend(red Elder,UberElder) this gem is usefull.
Doing pretty good so far. Gear and stuff is in my profile.

This build was really cheap to make.

Only paid 20c for 5L Vis Mortis. I lowballed someone on it. All the other slots were 1-5c per slot.

Haven't ran any red maps yet, but that's simply because I don't have them. I'm confident I could run them using the gear/build I have.

I was originally looking for a build that's under 100c budget that can comfortably run red maps, and what I'm using is actually closer to 40-50c worth of equipment. My expectations were exceeded.

If you team, you should drop EE. Use 1 regret orb. EE might throw off other builds in a party. People don't like it when you buff enemies to their damage type. They get mighty salty. Or just team with people who do fire damage. Teams well with RF or molten strike builds.

Hello!

So are you guys saying we should just simply drop the zombies?

They are good meatshield I guess?

Thx

Drop zombies? Why? It's free DPS in a 4L. They can contribute to DPS against anything solar guards don't instantly melt. Bosses, and red beasties. They're also pretty tanky, and are more or less permanent pets (until they die or you relog). There arguably isn't anything else you'd use in a 4L that's any better than some zombies. Except for maybe skeletons. Unless skeletons massively out damage zombies, I don't see a case made for skeletons who expire on a timer, and require extra button presses on a build for people who're too lazy to press too many buttons.

Also, if you end up getting one of those elder helmets with +2 minion gems + level 20 minion damage, you potentially got a 5L freed up for either spectres or zombies. Zombies would be a good candidate in a 5L. They're tanky enough to survive all but the most devastating oneshot mechanics. I've had zombies blown to chunks before by volatiles. Better them than me. Could have been me that got gibbed if it wasn't for zombie meat shields getting aggro from volatiles.

You actually use that skill gem because once it's at L20 with 20% quality added, you get a 20% MORE damage modifier added to your minions/spectres.
