Whirling is faster, yes. I also feel charge is more satisfying, but it's plenty slower.

I don’t believe minions can trigger the EE.

only our hits will trigger EE. but be sure to not have any "add x amount of lightning/cold dmg to spells" on your gear cuz that might fuck up the EE
