" Yea, but your EQ is top tier and... very offensive orientated :D you have not much resist on helmet and gloves. If we mean to be rather defensive orientated, dual resist there is common. Then we do not even need resist on jewels. |
|
" Actually they are just okay. It's usually important to get flat ES on all gear, alongside the % increase, as the change is massive given enough % increased ES on tree/gear. I only managed to get +25 to max ES on the Abyss jewel, a cheap dmg mod and tried to jam fire resist in there, it's an okay jewel, would've been top-tier if it's like +45 to max ES. The other rare jewel is also alright, some % increased ES, res and some dmg boost, I mean at league start it's hard, but later on it's a lot easier to obtain than my helmet and gloves. So either way if you're trying to jam as much res as possible on rare jewels you risk not finding + ES on them as a trade-off for probably triple resists, and some dmg loss when you can potentially fit in some on there (for less damage oriented on gear - to fit in more resists). And if you equip an Elder-base Unset Ring, it might come down to that - all for the cost of 1 gem slot (which can be a lot of options btw not just contagion). If it's still worth it for you, then great, but if it's not, I guess we all knew the reason why. :p A filthy casual

For the blight mechanic, contagion or bane is better?

" Contagion is better, but its clearing power has been reduced by quite a bit in 3.8. Also if you play Low life you'll have to cast Bane on enemies to debuff them with Despair (more dmg) and most importantly Enfeeble (to weaken them). During maps/delve nodes with "Monsters' action speed cannot be slowed below base value" and/or "Monsters have x% increased Attack/Cast speed", you'll have to play faster as things suddenly become so much faster than usual. And the build doesn't really invest in cast speed, cast time will be much slower than other self-cast builds. Meaning if you react too slowly to things, they can kill you when you're trying to cast Contagion and ED. This takes 2 casts. Bane takes 1 cast and is enough to kill a pack with enough investment, but its clearing power is still slower than ED/Contagion by a fair margin (but not as big of a margin now compared to 3.7). In ED/Bane setup, you can slot in Contagion in there if you want, but until you can afford Elder base Unset ring, Enduring Cry/cwdt-Immortal Call will have to be sacrificed for Contagion. " I understand, I'm starting this build with little currency, so I will make a lot of maps with it, would the ED / Bane + Contagion setup be better? |
|
" If you're starting out yes that's fine, when you get enough investment to rely on Bane's dmg, then you can remove Contagion later on. In which case, obtain the defensive core enduring cry + cwdt + immortal call once you reach maps, as you won't get all the auras in that easily at start and there are probably free gem slots to socket these. Whoever play this build with Bane, please quality the Bane and Despair gems with 20 GCP each rather than the vendor recipe when your gem level 20.
I did this on my Bane, and I didn't read about the curse gem limit. Now my damage reduced greatly, must buy curse gems from Lily again which level 1, and can't complete even the lowest Blight Map. Insert song full of regret here IGN

Hello, It's me again :) last time I've posted it's hard to play this build, but time and experience did the job :) Now I'm at stage of completing gear, but this league I've got bad luck and cant afford better loot, or orbs xD anyway, playstyle is better now, but I realized it must be smart and mobile, instead of static like in tanky builds :) dmg is growing up and offence is the best deffence we've got here :) Sure, sometimes I'm dying, because it's low life build, and my ES is about 1,5k now, but I'm sure completing gear, jewels, and reach 90+ lvl will make it like in build descriptions :) slowly, I'm accustoming with the build and It's really cool :)
Most annoying are jumping, phys-ranged, and sting-exploding on death enemies :D |

For those who have got full gear (whether in Blight or Standard), you can try out Sand Stance aura + Vaal Grace or Purity of Ice + Vaal Grace instead of the regular Blasphemy + Temporal Chain combo. Bane setup keeps the same 3 curses Poacher's Mark, Enfeeble and Despair. Sounds crazy for an occultist with zero temporal chain, right? Well, yeah, but there's some benefits that cannot be missed out on.
1. During maps/delve nodes with "Monsters' action speed cannot be reduced to below base value" and, or "Inc cast/attack speed" or even Onslaught (Delve only), Temporal Chain aura will be useless, regardless of how effective the curse itself is. Meaning now we don't need to fear these map/delve mods anymore. Also bosses like Shaper, Uber Elder, delve bosses, etc won't have their action speed reduced that much at all, so they'll still be pretty fast. These bosses have 60% reduced curse effects applied on them and usually their action speed is protected, like Kaom's Roots on players. 2. Coupled with Quartz Flask, Vaal Grace and Blind from Sand Stance + Lunaris Pantheon, we can reach 81% melee/projectile dmg prevention (combined both 55% evade chance and 57% attack dodge chance) and 57% spell dodge chance. This is an all-rounder to deal with all elemental damage source, by trying to dodge them all. Quarts Flask alone is very poorly defensive without any other increases in dodge elsewhere. 3. The current defense includes 3 endurance charges from Enduring Cry, Basalt flask for 15% physical reduction/or 20% less cold dmg taken from Sapphire flask during delve, Vaal Discipline, Aspect of the Spider slow, super-buffed Enfeeble for more evade chance, and less dmg taken, Immortal Call and life flask for instant heal + consecrated ground. If you want to be even more hipster, get Vaal Clarity and slot in GMP for Void Manipulation in ED setup to spam ED and get ES regen from 50 mobs on screen. 4. Purity of Ice is more niche, used in Delve with mods like "Monsters have x% chance to avoid blind", to give 81% max cold resistance. Considering that the icicles that pop from the ground from monsters that die appear pretty often in azurite nodes in general, purity of ice is a very strong option to consider. I tested with both these setups and find Sand Stance used much more often than Purity of Ice, aside from Delve. This helps greatly improve match-ups against Legion generals, rippy map mods, porcupines and any other enemies, including Synthesis bosses. Now we can have 3 layers of defense, we can take heavy hits, recover back quickly with ED, can heal our ES instantly for good amounts and finally can just avoid both elemental and physical hits if needed. EDIT: If you have obtained the panicked divine life flask, upgrade Ryslatha pantheon to get your ES to instantly heal for 3456 ES total. Enjoy! ;p A filthy casual Editado por útlima vez por Hologram_o#6409 en 21 sept. 2019 17:27:41
