[2.5] The Perfect Formless Inferno. Poison Bleed 2h Slayer
When I saw the Formless Inferno helmet, I felt it was underwhelmed. However I wanted to try it in a build, and what can better synergize with it than the Perfect Form armor.
And I started thinking about what should I do to get the better out of both. In the end, I came up with a build using 2h weapon, Voidheart and the 2 uniques above and try to be as physically mitigated as possible. Talking about Offenses: -Bleed from Voidheart -Poison -Vurlnerability blasphemy (or Witchfire Brew) -2h sword with huge pDPS (cheapest option is Doomsower and endgame option is Starforge) -Obtained 89% hit chance at level 90, not taking RT meaning you can crit. Talking about Defenses: -Physical Mitigation from Formless Inferno (8% phys taken to fire) -Physical mitigation from free Arctic Armour (Perfect Form) -Physical mitigation from over 20k armour unflask -Phase Acro -High leech rate from Slayer and duelist nodes around. Disadvantages: It is not the fastest clearing build, and can be sluggish if you are not familiar with leap slamming around on brightbeak + Prismatic. It uses a combination of 2 uniques that both reduces your resistances by 30%, so you are going to be looking to fill them up. That means the choices for rare gloves, boots, ring, amulet, belt are always going to be high res. This can be pretty tough when you try to squeeze in flat phys, life, accuracy or atk speed. However, remember that any % fire and cold res on your gear is directly transformed into armour value, which means fire and cold resistance has double value.
Gear
Here is my current gear setup I recently obtained a Starforge and it is a blast, not going RT and using Starforge means I have shocks available to me as well. Updates on gear: I found a steel ring and crafted it myself. With changed gear, I reach 6.3k life and a little dmg boost.
Gem
6l Lacerate: Lacerate + Multistrike + Faster Attack + Melee Physcial Damage + Poison + Inc Aoe. Switch Inc AOE for Conc Effect for bosses 5l Ancestral Warchief: AW + Melee Physical Damage + Bloodlust + Faster Attack + Conc Effect Switching Faster attack in AW 5l for Vaal Cyclone to have a 4l Vaal Cyclone for faster map clearing. CWDT setup: CWDT + IC Aura setup: Grace; Blasphemy + Vurnerability Additional buffs : Bloodrage + Arctic Armour Movement: Leapslam + Faster Attack + Fortify + End charge on Stun/ Blood Magic
Flask
Flask helps tremendously in risky situation. Atziri's Promise is a staple flask for Phys/Chaos build of any type. Lion Roar is both defense and offense in a bottle, pretty much the best option. Worm Flask is the niche Slayer thing, where worm has the hp of a Normal Twilight Strand Zombie and synergize with Endless Hunger for maximum overkill leech. Very good in general. Life flask of Heat, for un-freeze. The only thing that this build hates is how things can freeze you, so this is a must. Other than that I choose the low life prefix because unless you are in a horrible situation and is low on life, you're going to be top off all the time while mapping. I choose a stibnite flask over Basalt because Stibnite is such a powerful utility flask, giving you both 100% evasion (which goes into armour) and smoke cloud (blinds enemies). Layered defense is much better than straight up physical mitigation stacking. The best in slot Stibnite flask should be Sin's Rebirth for the almighty OpieOP Unholy Might. I choose Sin's Rebirth over Witchfire brew, even though they are both good, I can't get access to Unholy Might anywhere else, while I can Blasphemy + vulr myself. Unholy Might is much stronger than the 50%/70% dots bonus. Update on flasks: I've replaced the magic stibnite flask with a Sin's Rebirth. This is the magical flask that gives Unholy Might, burn removal and has 3 uses on full charge. Probably the most overpowered flask at this point, and a perfect pick for all physical/poison build.

So far I have done up to t15 without using Starforge. I did struggle in the damage department a little bit at t15 but it is manageable. Face tanked t12 dominus touch of god, t11 Wasteland Voll slam poinblank. Atziri and Uber lab are done from level 75-80, the higher level you are, the more risky you can get during fights. Survives Atizri's flameblast and CAN leech back to full using worm flask if not being overlapped with stormcall. Currently sitting at 6.3k life, pretty much set. Suggestions are much welcomed and appreciated. Videos are up.
A simple demonstration of the build and an Uber lab run. I don't want to record normal Atziri because these days, she's not really a standard anymore when pretty much any cohesive build will kill her with ease. What do you do for mana?
|
|
Im using the mana leech craft in my gloves. Doesn't need too much it will be sufficient. Or if you don't have an open affix for it on your glove, a jewel with mana leech is also an option. My builds:

Noted, thanks.

I noticed that you are using Blood Rage. According to some googling that I did, if you have Blood Rage on, you will never be able to get the benefits of Endless Hunger, which is leech effects are not removed at full life, because you can never be at full life while under any sort of degen, even if you can out leech or outregen the degen. In that case, is it still a good choice?

Hi, even though I am never at full life, The 20% overkill leech isn't affected by bloodrage, and pathing toward Brutal Fevor for bleed and stun immunity is important as well. You can choose to not use bloodrage, but to me it's a very good skill, because it gives both leech and attack speed.
Stun immunity is important because it makes sure you are never going to be interrupted. Although with the amount of phys mitigation the build has, bleed isn't a problem, however full immunity is always sweet to have. Overall I don't see any reason to go for either Impact or Overwhelm. The only problem with the build is the helmet, The Formless Inferno. As I said in the first post, the helm is rather underwhelming, especially compare to such options like Devoto Devotion, or a good rare helm with high life. Compare to other Xoph items, the helm is just plain bad that I wonder why GGG showed it instead of other items in the Breach reveal page. The helm probably need 1 additional property to really be up to par with other Breachlord uniques. My builds:

Hi, thanks for the response, I understand now about your decision to still use Blood Rage despite having Endless Hunger. I like your build idea quite a lot, and although the Formless Inferno does feel very whelming, I think there is some potential in it, maybe if possibly combined with lightning coil instead? However, capping resistances would then be quite a big problem.
